“The Big EZ is a big winner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2004

The Big EZ is all you could wish for in a vacation destination. Luxurious accomodations; great food and an incredible staff. It is not inexpensive, but well worth it, Wonderful amenities and close to Yellowstone.

My wife and I just got back from a 2 week trip in Jackson, WY and Big Sky, MT (visting Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks.) We stayed at Jenny Lake Lodge, Brooks Lake Lodge, and the Big EZ Lodge. Honestly all were great, but this recommendation is about the Big EZ. It really is unlike any other lodge we have stayed at. In fact, it's not really a "lodge"; it is more like staying at your mega-millionaire friend's high meadow retreat. After calling in front the private road access gate a few miles from the Big Sky ski resort access road, you drive another 10 minutes up a (presently) undeveloped road to the Big EZ lodge whose luxury it so effusive that it seems out of place. There are so many common areas that you feel like you are staying at super high end private residence rather than a lodge. The rooms (we stayed in Nevada) are much nicer than they even seem on their web site. Service was excellent and very personal. The price tag, though not cheap, was actually an good value. I think that the super high end lodge was developed to sell the residential lots it owns around it for the highest price possible, so I think that our stay was actually "subsidized" by the future real estate buyers; do hey, we're not complaining!
Yes, pre-set dinner menu in an area known for game was not well suited to my non-red meat wife, but they were very helpful with chicken/salad substitutes and my wife was very happy with it.
Highly recommended.

We just returned from the Big EZ, and can't brag enough about it. The setting is a 360 degree vista of nothing but beautiful mountains and valleys. The lodge itself, is comfortably, but exquisitely decorated. The room was large, comfortable, and impeccably neat and clean. The staff is fantastic, nothing is too much to ask, and their attitudes are the best. The only criticism, which was not a problem for us, is the limited menu. At night, there is one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert (no choices). However, they will accomodate vegetarians, special requests, etc. except apparently at breakfast when I ordered something off the menu. Even though there is not much choice, the food is beautifully presented, with small portions and top notch ingredients. We were a bit surprised at so many children when we there, for such a remote and adult-like atmosphere. Would suggest going in early Sept if you want a true hideaway. This is truly a treasure!

The Big EZ Lodge is a wonderland of western art, mounted bison and moose heads, stone fireplaces, and gorgeous mountain views. The hot tub alone is worth the visit. The food is fantastic and the staff are really friendly and attentive. I travel a lot, and this was one of the very best (better even than Amanresorts!)
