We -were- a fan of this restaurant until our last visit.
We were barely acknowledged when we came in and after we were put in a booth with sticky seats and an almost clean table top. The booth next to us was dirty and full of dishes and remained that way through our entire meal. Next some stale corn chips that were really dark like they had been over cooked and salsa were put on the table.
My husband ordered his favorite off the menu and I decided to try one of their special nachos. When I asked if I could substitute steak for chicken I was told no.
The chimichanga was average (in the past they were outstanding), rice was cold and bland.
The nacho plate had shredded chicken (too tough to chew) and ground beef (unseasoned and cold) with what looked like a hint of cheese on one side of the plate.
Our waiter, who we'd had in the past barely looked our way throughout the meal.
We had to get up and find someone to ask for more salsa.
We got up and walked across the restaurant to get our own take home box and an extra napkin.
When the waiter came to hand us our check he asked how everything was as he was turning to leave, so it really wouldn't have mattered what we had said.
The next day we are still discussing how sad it is that we will no longer consider this our favorite restaurant. We will look for a new favorite.
Average food - nothing to entice you to come back.
Below average service - something to convince you to never come back.
