The Cuban is the best sandwich at Dagwood's for sure, and the portions are ENORMOUS. You'll probably be full off one half of the sandwich, if you have an average appetite. (In case you are wondering what a Cuban is, it is a pressed sandwich on Cuban bread with Swiss cheese, ham, roasted pork, pickles, and honey mustard.) If you are more adventurous, my other favorite sandwich is the Curry Chicken Salad on swirled rye. It has a nice kick from the curry, and is a great sandwich for a hot summer day. I would recommend never getting a salad from Dagwood's, however. The Asian Chicken salad was nothing more than grilled chicken on top of shredded lettuce with chow mein noodles and some kind of Oriental vinaigrette. The atmosphere seems somewhat morose (probably since the restaurant is usually empty), so I would recommend this place for take-out.
