My husband and I went to Justus Drugstore for our anniversary. It's a 40+ minute drive, but it was well worth it. From the outside the restaurant is nothing to write home about, inside it's not fussy, but nice. We each had a salad, mine came with goat cheese that was locally produced, just like everything on the menu. We each had chicken as our main course, mine was the fried chicken breast from the menu, my husband's was a special that night. Both were delicious and moist and came with a nice side-his quinoa (which he said didn't taste like quinoa-a big plus in his opinion), mine came with potatoes and kale. We both had dessert and they were as good and well conceived as dinner. Everything is either grown on the farms owned by the chef/owner, or is a local meat or cheese. It's fresh, beautifully prepared and delicious. The owner came by after dinner and talked with us about his and the restaurant's history, philosophy etc. This is a wonderful restaurant for foodies. Be aware the chef allows no substitutions because he believes if you change anything in a dish it changes the overall experience. This is not the place for you if you're one who likes to ask for a lot of changes when you order. There is an outdoor seating area with a different menu and a separate kitchen for less formal dining. Since we consider this kind of a special occasion place we were a bit surprised at how casually some of our fellow diners in the restaurant were dressed.
