“Great Hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2008

We had absolutely no problems the two days we were at the Drury, and myself and friends all thought it was a great stay. We travel with our kids competitive league monthly, so we are often in the pricest of hotels due to location, and the hotel staff here beat the pricest! The entire staff I came in contact with was extremely friendly and accommodating. Check in was easy, the hotel was clean, and the amenities were as expected for this mid range hotel. Quite a variety of snacks served in the evening and breakfast was good as well. Swimming pool water was very warm, like bath water, which was perfect since it was cold outside. I would highly recommend!

Staff was VERY friendly. Made a point of finding local dining establishment that was open on Christmas Day so we didn't have to survive on vending machine food . Free snack bar (celery/carrots, chips, nachos) and 3 drinks were especially welcome. Room was very clean and comfortable. Sarah was welcoming and friendly at both the front desk and when acting as bartender.

  • Liked — The freebies and the staff
  • Disliked — Nothhing...everything was good

This was our first experience staying in a Drury Inn. We had no trouble finding this St. Peters Drury Inn. It's in a very good location outside St. Louis. There is a huge shopping /eating area behind this place which was a great place to walk my 20 minutes each day. Check in was good.
The bedroom and the bathroom were very clean. The bathroom was roomy, with a separate sink outside. They did not offer lotions, conditioner, or shower gel, just shampoo. They offered two kinds of towels and wash cloths - thin and another towel that was more like a spa towel. They were there both days, so it must be something they do. The light was very good in this room. They used the spiral bulbs - energy efficient. They had a nice desk between the two beds. That is where I set up my laptop but we had to unplug something each time I used it. There were other outlets in the room but no desk nearby. This room also had a microwave and fridge together in a cabinet.
At exactly 5:30 they opened their snack and beverage bar. They gave us a card that had a space for three drinks per day. They offered wines, beer and mixed drinks for no charge. Soft drinks and coffee were offered all day long. They had packaged hot chocolate in the morning but it was not out in the afternoon for a snack. Too bad. They offered fresh carrots and celery with dip, a couple kinds of chips with dip and pretzels.
Their breakfast - eating area was very large and pleasant. It was adjoined to the lounge/lobby area which was huge.
The pool was small but there were no children there during our stay. There is a very nice area to sit outside the pool. It's also has its own outside door. The pool is in the middle of the building so we never had to walk around other people in our bathing suits. The water was nice and warm and the hot tub was great. We paid $71.99 + $9 tax a night which I thought was very good considering what we got and the location, and the price of other places in the area.
We would recommend a stay here and we would like to try staying at another Drury Inn again.

  • Liked — I thought their early evening snack bar was great
  • Disliked — There were not available electrical outlets by the desk/work area

Great hotel-excellent staff and breakfast! The indoor pool was nice, but small. In the pool area, they also have a exit where the parents can sit outside, but still watch their kids in the pool. Conviently located right off the highway by Mid-Rivers Mall. Many reataurnats in the area and Ruby Tuesdays next door. Definitly will return if in the area!!!!!!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2006

One night at the Drury Inn, St. Peters in March 2006. We reserved a non-smoking room with a king-sized bed through Drury's reservation system. Upon arrival, we found that we were booked into a king suite, considerably more expensive than the room with the king-sized bed which we'd reserved. (The error was made by Drury reservations, not the hotel.) We didn't want to pay the extra $35 - $40. The desk clerk offered no solution. We asked about other rooms and were told that, well, there was a non-smoking, handicapped room available. After being told that the only difference between the regular room and the handicapped room was that the closet is on the outside and the doors are wider, we took the room. When we got upstairs, we discovered that there was no fridge or microwave in the room. We asked if there was another room available and were told that, well, there was a smoking room that had a fridge and microwave, so we moved to that room.

The overall impression that we received was that it didn't matter whether we stayed or left. Poor customer service, and very unusual for Drury staff, in our experience. We've stayed at many Drurys and this was an isolated experience.

Drury Inns are our first choice on road trips because they provide the amenities that we are looking for: free hot breakfast; laundry facilities; internet access; fridge and microwave; no pet fee. There's a manager's reception with free wine or beer, as well as snacks, sometimes welcome after a long day's drive. There are extra touches, such as a couple of Pepsi in the fridge and a bag of popcorn in the microwave.

Overall, we'd likely choose another Drury Hotel in the area (there are so many to choose from in the St. Louis area), which is unfortunate, because this was probably an isolated incident.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2005

Stayed here in March 2005 along with 12 friends having a 50th birthday party. Hotel was extremely clean, staff very nice. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower head! Staff set up a "party room" for us in a room right on our floor, it was so convenient. Party room had frig and microwave, big table and comfortable chairs.

Despite the fact that there were several groups in addition to ours staying the same weekend, my room was really quiet.

You can't beat the breakfast that is included with the room - all the usual cold stuff plus sausage, eggs, gravy, french toast and a waffle bar. All was freshly prepared and delicious, and the staff kept the area neat and well stocked.

They also have an afternoon snack time with all kinds of goodies and includes wine and beer! Again all included in the price of the room.

Had a nice small indoor pool, hot tub and exersize room. Used the pool and hot tub, they were warm and extremely clean. Lots of towels were available in the pool area also.

Although I am not from the area, it seemed to be very conveniently located with quick access to shopping, attractions and casinos. In fact, there was a shopping mall right by the hotel, and Bob Evans and Ruby Tuesdays are right by the hotel. Many other restaurants are close by.

Other nice extras were the free high-speed internet and 1 hour of long distance calling for free per night, not per stay.

I really think this hotel has it all. I highly recommend it for your visit to the St. Louis area.

We had requested a room away from an elevator or ice machine and they put us directly across from one. They changed us to another room that did not have cold water. They did fix it so that we had cold water, but then we had no water pressure.

After running the shower, the dampness settled in and the room started to exhibit a very pungent odor of dog urine. When we called the front desk to complain, we were told that dogs were allowed to stay at the hotel. When we asked to be moved to a room that did not allow dogs, they obliged. However, it was a room across from the elevator.

We don't mind a hotel that allows pets, but they should make it perfectly clear to the guests before they check into their room if they would like a room that allows/disallows pets. For those who are allergic to animals with fur, it can be quite disastrous, not to mention having to put up with the foul odors from keeping an animal confined in such a small space as a hotel room.

We paid extra for the "refriderator stocked with unlimited soft drinks." What a waste. You can get unlimited soft drinks as long as you want Pepsi or Diet Pepsi. That's it. And there is a wopping one can waiting in your room for you. If you want more, you have to call down and have it brought up. We definitely could have done without this one.
It's not worth the extra money.

The king bed was something right out of a two-bit hotel. Thin mattress and very, very firm. Like sleeping on a piece of plywood. And at 2 a.m.
in the morning, we were awaken by a group of drunk teenagers spilling off of the elevator and yelling. We waited several minutes before finally calling the front desk who told us they were coming up to fix the problem. O.K., the "problem" was yelling right over the lobby atrium area (where the front desk is located) for several minutes and having the front desk clerk do nothing until the other guests started to complain. As soon as these drunks came through the front door, the desk clerk should have said reminded them to be quiet or they would be ejected from the hotel.

Another complaint was the condition of the luggage cart and the lack thereof. If you could find the luggage cart, the wheels were so unbalanced that you needed someone on both sides of it so your bags wouldn't fall off. That's if you could find it. A better solution for missing luggage carts is to keep them at the front desk and give them to guests as they ask for them (not leaving them out for anyone to take off with.) When a registered guest requests one, the front desk clerk takes their photo identification as a deposit, records their room number, then lets the guest leave with it. When another guest needs to use one, the front desk knows who has it. A good policy would be that if you don't promptly return the luggage cart back to the front desk then your room is charged $10 for every fifteen minutes of rental that is deducted from the hotel bill of the other guest who is waiting for you to return it.

Breakfast is nice. The only complaint was the eggs. They're powdered eggs and they taste like it. I don't think they even use powdered eggs in prisons anymore. But the french toast, waffles, sausage and other breakfast foods were good.

As for additional dining, stay away from the Ruby Tuesdays next door.
The food and drinks are awful.

The pool and hot tub looked to be in good condition, but we did not use them.
