“Four Seasons Light”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

This is a four seasons (lower case use is intentional), but to those of you used to FOUR SEASONS hotels and resorts, you will be disappointed by this outpost. The food is okay, the service in the bar and restuarant less so--this is Four Seasons Light. My guess is that it is probably the best hotel in town, and the rates ( esp.compared to other Four Seasons around the world) are a STEAL. (I heard many other guests talking about how inexpensive it was compared to other luxury hotels in the area). BUT, I was "upgraded" to a room with a view of the highway and the glaring neon/ LED 75 foot sign that winking on and off all night long. Oh, and the hotel is connected to a Casino and surrounded by a very sketchy run down warehouse district--forget about the late night neighborhood jog. Not an idyllic spot. Still, if you have business downtown--you could do much much worse.

“It's the little things that make the difference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

This was my first experience with a stay at a Four Seasons. If you look at my other reviews and map, you'll see I have been all over the world and stayed at many nice hotels and resorts, what makes the difference here at the Four Seasons Hotel St Louis is the little things, some you may never notice.
I had a standard king room, and even with that all the appointments were sleek and modern. Bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets and a white down comforter. There was a nice lounger, almost like a modern version of a fainting couch. Very inviting and comfortable to sit on. Flat panel TV with a lot of channels, though the channel layout seems a but odd.
The bathroom is very large and very nice, has a separate water closet, large soaking tub and a glass enclosed shower with both hand held and rain shower heads. Bath amenities are from L'Occtaine and smell very nice, no need to bring soap, shampoo, conditioner or body lotion, and the facial bar is also very nice. There is a TV in the bathroom, embedded in the mirror, very nice. There are also nice soft robes. The water is softened water, so if you are not used to bathing with softened water, it'll feel odd because you will feel as if you can never fully rinse off, but the fact is, the softened water leaves your skin cleaner and less dry, so that is why you still feel "slippery" after bathing.
Here is where the difference is, small details you do not see at other hotels. Housekeeping comes during the day as usual, but they don't just clean up and take off like other hotels, they detail everything like placing your personal bath items neatly on the counter or within the shower, arranged in a proper manner, neatly. Same thing in the living space, your shoes are placed neatly to the side for example, not just cleaned around or pushed aside. You can see that care is taken to move and place the items, thoughtfully and carefully. When they come back in the evening for turndown service, they again straighten the room, re-hang the robes, tidy the room and arrange the bed for night time. The bathroom has a small jar with q-tips and cotton balls, when was the last time you saw that in a hotel? Even when they come for turndown service, they re-fold the ends of the bathroom tissue (toilet paper) so it looks neat (again). They also again tidy the bathroom and bath amenities.
So, what makes the difference? Attention to detail. No shortcuts, no quickies. Even your newspaper, you choice of three (WSJ, NYT, Local), is delivered in a bag hung on your door, not tossed on floor at your door as they race down the hall.....attention to detail, classy.

Cons: No coffee maker in room, but there is a coffee service in lobby with free coffee until 8am
Two elevators...from valet ($30 day) or parking, you have to take one elevator to 8th floor where lobby is, then a different elevator to where the rooms are, on 9th through 19th. So no matter what, you take two elevators.

By the way, you can print your airline boarding pass at computer in lobby (8th floor) for free

Highly recommend staying here

Room Tip: I should have paid for Arch View, I recommend you do so.

“Great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

I was very comfortable and relaxed, awesome experience! The staff was very helpful. The bar/restaurant Cielo had great drinks and food. The bathrooms were amazing and the bed was super comfortable. And the view of the arch was great. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in so they upgraded us, which was very nice, Can't wait to go back sometime.

“Near Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

The Four Seasons of St. Louis was an exceptional experience. The Beds were extremely comfortable. The deep water bath was quite welcome after a long day. And the views and walkout balconies in lobby and restaurant were beautiful. And the staff was more than courteous and helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the arch have by far the best views.
