“nice hotel, but needs update to antiquated elevator service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

We were received cordially during a very busy time in the city--pregame/ St. Louis Cardinals. There was a bit of confusion regarding our parking and a mix-up as to whether we opted valet parking or chose to park our own vehicle. However, this was minor compared to the confusion and frustration on attempting to take an elevator to and from our 19th floor east-side room. It was like mechanical elevators were a new concept to the staff, and my wife and I endured several wait periods just attempting to depart and return to our room. That aside, the room itself was quite clean and comfortable, with a nice view of the fountain and arch. Also, the nice lady at reception was especially professional.
We probably would stay again at the Hilton at the Ballpark. Perhaps in time they will have learned how to operate their elevators.

Room Tip: Select west side if you want a view of Busch Stadium.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel! We appreciate all feedback - good and bad! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you would return! That means a great deal to us! And we are sorry for the delays you encountered on the elevators. We do face some challenges on busy Cardinal baseball weekends because of the sheer mass of people that are going to and returning from the game at the exact same time! It's a challenge, but one we try our best to work through. Thank you for giving us your feedback and we hope you'll come back soon!

I was at at meeting the week of 5/15/13 and found the hotel to be lovely, staff friendly and food very good. I particularly want to acknowledge Aris at the front desk for his thoroughness and Lemar in Room Service who went the extra mile to ensure excellent service. And how fun is it to look out your windo and almost touch Busch Stadium!

Hello - I'm a Hilton Diamond member - obviously I travel a lot and stay at many Hiltons'. I just wanted to send a note indicating that there were two individuals servicing the Concierge level at this Hilton that were great. Vincent - in the morning and Latosha in the evening. They were attentive, engaging, ensured that everything was very clean, filled. Simply pleasant people that actually stood out for me - so you either have two great people here that take initiative on their own or you train them well. Either way - they made my visit pleasant. Thank you.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Arch or the Stadium.

Have been attending a conference at this hotel the past week. The staff has been great. Emily welcomed me to the hotel, got me checked in within moments, and even helped me get my Hilton rewards set up. Other staffers have helped me get across town to visit an international friend going to SLU. And all in all, a great staff showing the midwest hospitality.

Let me start off by saying that the Market Street Bistro was a great place to visit, the chicken nachos are awesome. We had the pleasure of being served by Anna. She is by far one of the best waitresses we have ever met. Joyful, pleasant, knowledgable and very sincere to see that you are taken care of from the time you sit down till the time you leave. Yes, we did have other servers on our recent stay but no-one can compare to Anna, I watched as she worked her tables and nothing changed, she performed perfectly every time. Please make time to go to the Bistro and don't miss asking for the best of the best, ANNA. If I could we would give her SIX stars, she deserves it!

A Hilton is a Hilton, but some surpass the others. This wasn't one of them.

The good:
Nice restaurant, but with a limited breakfast menu and a blah breakfast buffet
Quiet
Clean
Right downtown, a walk away from restaurants, the swell sculpture park, stadium, arch
Very friendly staff (sometimes too friendly. The room service guy smirked when he gave me my order and called me Milady. I tipped him and said, "Ta, Milord."

The not-so-good
My room clock was still set to standard time, and we were a couple of weeks into daylight savings time. The clocks weren't set up for you to set yourself, so the hotel engineer had to come and do it.
The little thing you push in to make the shower go on wasn't working, so I had to take a bath the first night and I HATE sitting down in hotel bathrooms. God only knows how thoroughly they've been clean. Luckily, service was prompt for both clock and shower, although the shower never did work right. I still have calluses on my index finger from pushing it in.

The downright silly
The hotel has installed those elevators where you have to push a button by the elevator door and then ride up or down, and by the time you have the system figured out, you're ready to check out. To make matters worse, there's no guide to what's on what floor either outside or inside the elevator. C'mon! Give me a break!

I attended a conference in the Hilton St Louis. My room was good with a comfortable bed and plenty of room for computers and other electronics necessary for working. The view was nice as well. What struck me about the hotel was that the elevators did not take you to the conference area. Either you needed to get off on the second floor walk by the pool and turn some corners or you needed to go to the first floor and come up the escalator. I know that we had people late to meetings as they tried to find their meeting room. Overall, the experience at the hotel was good and the staff was very helpful.

Room Tip: The higher you go the closer you get to the rooftop bar which generates quite a bit of noise that ca...

Thank you so much for your review of Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. We are always grateful for feedback from our guests! Our hotel does offer an interesting layout and we prefer to call it interesting because of the historic value of our property. At the heart of our hotel is the Pavilion from the 1964 World's Fair in New York. It was purchased by St. Louis back in the 1960's and eventually converted into this hotel. Because of the historic nature of it, we built around it, so the layout stems from the original structure of the Pavilion! We appreciate your business and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us! We hope you'll come back and visit us again soon!
