“Nice Conference Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Just finish staying here for a 4 day conference. The Hotel is nice but has seen better days. Nothing exceptional but I would recommend this Hotel if you are going to convention there or going to a ball game. The proximity of the Hotel to the MetroLink and then on to the ballpark is great, very conveinient. The pool area was nice as was the convention area. Staff is friendly and the room we had was clean. The mall is underused but sufficient for a Hotel mall. Go to the Galleria mall if you want to shop. Satisfied but no over the top by any means.

We stayed here in May 2012 as part of a tour. The room was big, clean and quiet. The old station was stunning,we used the restaurant for our breakfast and it was good. However most of the other places to get food were all fast food. We found a good Sea food restaurant just outside the main complex which was very good. Would have run out of options if we had been there any length of time.

The lobby is beautiful. When you enter you think "if the room is half as nice as this lobby I'll be great" then it's not. It's kind of like a holiday inn pasted on the back of a castle. The rooms were ok. A bit tired, and it is on the other side of a mall which is really tired. Like "oh this used to be a Disney store and now it sells tacky lingerie." I think there must be a quota for regular stores to cardinal fan merchandise stores. At least a 2:1 ratio. However, the bar was not to bad and the fitness room is AMAZING. Seriously one of the best I've ever been in.

The location of this hotel is great. The lobby is impressive and the staff was great. The rooms were just basic but clean. No complaints....hotels have to be over the top to get 5 stars from me.
I would stay here again.

We stayed there for one night using a Marriott free night certificate. Overall, it's a good use of the certificate as the hotel itself (building, lobby, etc) is quite impressive and expensive. However, the stay itself is just OK. As a Marriott Platinum member, I was placed in a separate wing from the main hotel. Our room faces a courtyard with a swimming pool. It felt a bit dark and dreadful. The room itself is clean and comfortable although it is a little tired as so many of you have already pointed out. To access to the concierge lounge, we had to go through a gate with key-access, cross the mall through a bridge, take an elevator in the lobby, then walk through a long hallway. It did not matter to us as we only stayed there for one night. However, if I had a choice, I would definitely prefer to stay in the mail part of the hotel.

The Lobby is extremely impressive, however it's all down hill from there. Rooms are a bit tired, location not that central, the executive lounge a bit small and limited. Will probably stay nearer the Arch next time

I'm torn over the rating on this one ... to start with: very unique location at the historic train station (main reason we stayed here and it didn't disappoint), great ambiance, very friendly front desk staff, helpful concierge, good breakfast selection at the Station Grill ... however, the rooms have nothing particular to stay: small in terms of room size, smells bit stale, but comfy bed ... Overall, it just falls short of "very good", but if you don't spend much time in the room, it's a great choice with unique experience!
