“Very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013 via mobile

Had Ethiopian food several times while living outside of st. Louis, decided to give this local place a try. South Grand location is great. Had a wonderful dinner with a friend. Other reviews had noted that service was slow. We didn't experience that at all, if anything it was a little faster then we expected for a leisurely Friday dinner. But, no one rushed us. Would have liked to see more meat pieces in the combination plate, but still left feeling full. Will definitely keep this place in mind for future meals.

“An Ethnic Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013 via mobile

We usually visit about every four to six weeks as a treat. The food and injera are always good. We must be lucky because we've never has really bad service, and never had a dish with ginger. They are always happy to help us pick complimentary dishes when we get more then on sampler platter to share or experiment. Look forward to our next trip to Grand.

“Good, quick food. A bit greasy and ginger- intense.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

The vegetarian combo was a nice smattering of dishes but the overload of ginger left each dish tasting like the next. I've eaten lots of Ethiopian food at restaurants throughout the country, frequently with my Ethiopian friend, and I think the ginger and greasiness left not enough room for high quality, authentic cuisine.

“Great food served with lousy service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012 via mobile

Scores on ambience and food. Rates low on their lousy service. You can go there if you have tonnes of time to kill, because they are going to make you wait for that excellent food.

“A wonderful family experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

Our group of 3 adults and a 16 month old shared the vegetarian messob for 3. It was wonderful! It consisted of of 7 different dishes on an injera covered tray, with extra injera for all of us to use to eat. their portions are very generous. The two guys are pretty big eaters, im a lighter eater, but my son eats a lot for a toddler, and we all left quite full. In addition to being plentiful, the dishes had amazing flavor. Only one of the 7 was a bit too spicy for the toddler, and yet all were so richly flavored that everyone else found each dish enticing. We all had a hard time choosing our favorites.
The prices are reasonable, and the service very friendly.
