“Great Place for all ages!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

I have been going to Happy Joe's since I was a little kid. Over 20 years later I still go and the food hasn't changed! Always friendly workers and great food! We even had my sisters bridal shower here a few weeks ago and it was a hit with everyone(food, beer, soda, salad bar). The pizza is like no other, in a very good way! If you happen to come on a Tuesday they have a Large pizza and soda deal for around $20. That feed 4 grown adults. I mean we could have ate a 2nd pizza because it was so good :)

“Classic 80's style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

It's like walking into the 1980's, the way I remember pizza parlours growing up. You can even order Pepsi or Beer in those classic plastic pitchers. We tried the lunch buffet which was fine. The pizza was really good, perfectly crispy and there was a wide variety of toppings. We were a bit late arriving and were the only ones still eating from the buffet, but they continued to bring out fresh food. None of their supposedly famous taco pizza, though. Will try that another time. Salad bar was nothing to write home about, but adds a little color to your meal at least. Kids and adults alike were enjoying the 80's style arcade games. Very nice experience there.

“Best pizza in St. Louis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Happy Joe's is different than the typical St. Louis-style pizza, and we love it. The sauce, the toppings, the crust. What can I say? They have figured out how to give you a pepperoni pizza with some crispness on the pepperoni (not burnt, just perfect). As for the sausage, I love the way the sausage is ground into small bits and placed across the entire pizza -- sausage in every bite instead of large hunks of sausage. The sauce has a nice thickness to it, and the crust is not too thick and not too thin, You never have to worry about everything sliding off the slice when you pick up a piece. And, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Taco Joe. This is the one and only place I will ever consider eating a taco pizza. It is truly the best! One bite, and you will know why.

“No happy at Happy Joe's”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Joe may be a Happy person but the people he has working for him are kinda cranky. The old guy you order from seems really peeved with you if you don't know the rules. There are several rules if you get the buffet and want to order a pizza that isn't out there. We were told the pizza would be put on the buffet table and to watch for it. We were surprised when the waitress showed up with an entire pizza, but then she said strictly that the seven people at our table could have some pieces, but not the whole thing. The pizza isn't worth fighting for. Not the thin St. Louis style, but not thick. The salad bar was fresh and had a decent variety but nothing special. Refills for soft drinks cost extra. There is a little old fashioned game area for the kids to play at
after eating.
