The Saint Louis Art Museum in beautiful,verdant Forest Park is a special treat. I spent two delightful days there. I enjoyed their Italian Renaissance paintings,Northern European Renaissance paintings,Baroque paintings,French Realistic paintings,French Impressionistic paintings,German Expressionist paintings ,and Modern Art very much.I saw splendid paintings by Piero di Cosimo,Bartolomeo Vivarini,Hans Suess Kulmbach,Jan Provost,Titian,Giorgio Vasari,Frans Hal,Jan Goyen,Phillippe de Champaigne,Largilliere,Canaletto,Hubert Robert,John Copley,Giovanni Pannini,Jules Breton,Paul Gustav Dore,Carus,Jules Dupre,Corot,Claude Monet,Alfred Sisley,Vincent Van Gogh,Max Beckmann,Ernst Ludwig Kirschner,Henri Mattisse,Pablo Picasso,and Paul Delvaux. This museum also has wonderful depictions of nineteenth century Missouri by George Caleb Bingham.In addition to having delightful works of art,the extensive permanent collection is free to all.
