Got this hotel on Saturday night in July 2008 for $150 (with tax). It is one of the nicest hotels i have ever stayed in. Its about 2 mile walk from Busch Stadium, so we strolled over after the game. Set in downtown but it feels just on the outskirts. The only drawbacks i can think of were that they get you for $10 to park which i thought was uneccessary considering the location and that its an outdoor regular parking lot. Also, the pool is pretty small. Other then that, everything is first class. Our room had cool view west of town, comfy bed and pull out sleeper sofa. TV on a swivel so either person could watch it, full kitchen with stove, full frig, sink, dishes in cabinet, and even dishwasher. Bathroom was clean as well. The hot tub was nice but like i said the pool was a little small. The breakfast was first class, everything you could imagine and pretty good. Room was a little more then i usually like to pay, but considering ammenities and location it was worth it.

This was my first time staying in a Residence Inn, and also my first trip by train into St. Louis and must say both were very pleasant. Although the hotel is not what I would technically call downtown( within walking distance of a metrolink station and major attractions) it is very close and just a couple of minutes away by car.
The hotel does offer a free shuttle that will pick you up from the Amtrak station and will take/pick up from the stadium or anywhere else you need to go, and the longest we ever had to wait was about fifteen minutes.
Our room was very clean and well maintained, and the free breakfast buffet in the morning was always a great start to the day.
The Cardinals were in town and being the fourth of July weekend the hotel and shuttle were very busy, but the staff and drivers were always friendly and attentive( even to some guests who didn't deserve such courteous treatment).
Overall I was really impressed by how professionally everyone in the hotel took their jobs, and highly recommend this location.

“Best Hotel in the area”

Residence Inn St. Louis Downtown

I travel to St. Louis every week and have stayed at a lot of hotels. I always come back to the Residence it has the best breakfast, the best free dinnertime snacks/meal, the best rooms, the fastest internet connection and a nice secure (free?) parking lot.
The full kitchen is a bonus. Get a room on the west side and you'll have a view of downtown.
The free shuttle ( 3 Mi radius ) is nice because most downtown restaurants have no parking or you pay for parking.

I was attending a conference at the Convention Center downtown but could not find an affordable hotel right downtown that met my needs. Because of dietary restrictions, I needed a kitchen in my hotel room so that I could cook for myself. The Residence Inn - Downtown was just right. I could afford the rate, they had a full kitchen, and they have a free shuttle to downtown locations. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the Convention Center.

This hotel is spotlessly clean! When you stay here, reward the housekeeping staff by leaving a tip every day. I love taking baths but rarely see a hotel bathtub I'm willing to get into. At this hotel, I took 3 relaxing baths during my stay.

The layout of my studio worked very well. It was small but was not crowded and had everything I needed. The kitchen was well-equipped. I was by myself but it would work fine for a couple.

All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Because of my dietary restrictions, I was not able to partake in the breakfasts and evening snacks and drinks they put out downstairs, but the other guests seemed to enjoy what they had. For the frugal traveler, you could probably make a decent dinner out of what they served in the evening.

I highly recommend this hotel. It does not look beautiful on the outside but inside it looks very nice. It is a well-built solid hotel, not at all cheesy. Updated décor, everything works well and it is well maintained. The staff deserve customer service awards!

We had a 2br 2 bath room. We were 3 adults, 2 15 year olds and a 10 year old. We had plenty of room and it was very clean. If we need extra space again I will stay here again.
