“Nice for kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

I guess I was expecting to see more animals. They had a lot of fun things for the kids. I went with some co-workers and while we enjoyed the day it was not something I would not do again. I would recommend it for a family, but not single adults.

“Call before you go.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

Took a cab ride from downtown $36 only to arrive at closed gates. Brochures and website claimed it to be open. Looked like a fun place to explore, but turned into big let down and expressive cab ride.

“Behind the Scenes Clydesdale Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Grant's Farm ~ There are a variety of things to do on the property - animal attractions, a farmstead, Clydesdale Stables with Budweiser horses, and more. I went on a Behind the Scenes Clydesdale Experience Tour. It was great! If you are a horse enthusiast then this tour is for you! It was worth every penny.
Our tour guide Julie clearly loves her job and loves horses. She gave us so much information. We met horses that were featured in TV commercial horses. There are 3 Budweiser hitch teams - one based at their brewery in St Louis, one in Colorado Springs, and one in Merrimack, NH. The teams are on the road about 300 days per year.
We got to brush Lee, a retired hitch horse and then we got to take photos with him. Budweiser hitch horses are all geldings and have to be 18 hands tall. Warm Springs is their breeding farm in Missouri. The foals are brought to Grant’s Farm for beginning training. The geldings that pass the initial training then move to Merrimack for hitch training.
At the end of the tour there are free bottles of beer. I should have counted how many times Julie said Budweiser, Anheuser Busch, Budweiser, and Purina!
After the tour I considered seeing some of the other attractions on site, but didn’t really want to deal with the crowd.

“A must see for the whole family!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

A trip to Grant's Farm is a must see if you are in St. Louis! We took the tram around the deer park and got to see animals from the all over the world. Deer, elk, and cattle predominate. Next, we walked around through the park where the smaller animals were enclosed. We watched children feeding the goats and the ducks and geese. It was a cool overcast day, so some of the animals were not in their enclosures (iguanas, for example). We also walked through the barn to see the Clydesdales, the carriages, and the trophies. Finally, we walked out to the fields and barns where the young Clydesdales were housed. There are information posts along the way that tell about the horses, including demographics, trainings, and requirements to be part of the team. All-in-all a great trip!

“Visiting St. Louis: The Arch & Grant's Farm are TOPS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

If you come to St. Louis you must visit the arch and view the history video. And a trip to Grant's Farm is next. Nature, animals, history... it is the most fun for the cost of parking only! It is like going to San Francisco - you must see the Golden Gate Bridge and ride a cable car. And having lived there - I admit that I enjoyed this even more!
