“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2008

This could be a great place but seems that it isn't headed in that direction. We went down there for the Fat Tuesdays only to discover that it was CLOSED!!!!!

There was a restaurant we had lunch at called, Joey B's on the landing. Food was ok, service was slow.

We didn't even enter any of the establishments. Thinking to find a souvenir shop again, there was no such thing, just a bunch of restaurants and bars. I'm not sure if the place moved or we were just unable to find it.

It's close to the Arch but quite a walk, we chose to park in the parking garage for $3.

Visit the arch and the waterfront, if you don't make it to the landing you're not missing anything. If you're looking for a bar/restaurant go to the Union Station.

“Not the French Quarter, but carriage rides are fun!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2006

This area is marketed as the historic riverfront of old St. Louis. Well, I happen to know that most of the historic riverfront was destroyed to make room for the arch and this is all that was left. This area is very small, but has some nightlife and a few nice restaurants. We took a carriage ride for $45.00 for half and hour and it was well worth it. The driver took us down to the arch and back through the old section. Laclede's landing is ok, but it is very small. It is not the French Quarter. Don't expect too much.

“nothing exciting”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2006

Laclede's Landing – we walked around this area at night since it was conveniently located near our downtown hotel. We were there first on Saturday night but it was not as lively as we had expected. We didn’t even bother going into any of the bars since none look all that interesting. We came back on Monday following a Cardinal’s home game. We went into Fat Tuesdays but were extremely disappointed. The place looked kinda promising with the drink selection but after about 10 minutes we gave up trying to get drinks from the overworked, harried lone bartender and left thirsty.
