“Great view, odd smell”

I got lucky enough to have a view of the stadium at my stay at the Hilton... but I had a really really odd smell in my room. It had the scent of mildew but I couldn't put my finger on it. Parts of the hotel had it, too. Otherwise, great location, good spacious room, the rooftop bar has a great view if you're looking for one! Ask someone at the first floor elevators how to get up there - I'm not sure you're allowed to go to the rooftop bar from your room floor!

I can admit that my stay here was very cozy. The rooms were all up to date and clean. They were also smaller than usual and so were the bathrooms, but this is what you would expect from what the building use to be back a long time ago. You can tell that the rooms were newly renovated and remodeled all together. The way that the gift shop and business center was set up was cute!! They were the original vaults from when the building was Merchant's Bank. I would have like to see the bar stay open longer during my stay, as this is a downtown hotel, and many folks aren't ready to turn in at a certain time. I didn't quite understand how the meals were supposed to be handled, but the dining room had some nice decor as well as furniture. No pool, just a big hot tub which was cool. And yes i wish the cups they give you in the room does need lids to them, just a suggestion. Overall, I would return to the property again.

This is the first time that the Hilton did not provide lids for the coffee cups. There was no available coffee in the lobby or restaurant. Because this visit was over the Thanksgiving holiday services were limited for room maintenance. This is understandable but some compensation should be offered such as free drink or meal. Staff was always helpful and friendly.

A recent stay at the Hilton Downtown was delightful. The front desk staff was friendly and very efficient. Check-in was quick and informative. This particular location was once a major city bank.
The architectual detail has been maintained yet the atmosphere is fresh, comfortable and contemporary. Be sure to check out the original bank vault in the lobby. The bar and dining area are part of the open lobby that features many inviting seating and social areas. The room was very clean and comfortable. Linens were crisp and fresh. The bed was very comfy. The staff (front desk, restaurant, bar and housekeeping) were very friendly and helpful. This hotel location is an easy walk to the Edward Jones Dome, Busch Stadium and the Gateway Arch. Valet or self-parking is available.

En route to St Louis booked the Hilton downtown for 3 people only to learn that what we were assured over the phone was a booking for 3 people, actually was NOT !! and did'nt include our Pet that we were also assured of was included in the price quoted. On arrival had to pay extra $50 for our pet and breakfast for our son.

This hotel was once a grand old bank with marble floors, beautiful lighting, and the bank vault is now the hotels gift shop. It has a small cozy modern bar lounge area. The room we had was one of the suites, king size bed that felt like a cloud, a fab seating area with a "C" shaped blue velvet couch, and a lovely view of downtown St. Louis. We didn't eat at the restaurant but did have room service twice. A wonderful breakfast & a late night snack, which was brie cheese wrapped in puff pastry with pecans and raspberry filling, then toasted until it was a gooey bit of heaven! The staff was very attentive and ready to help with anything. The room was clean, quite, had large picture windows with great blackout curtains. I would never hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Use the hotels valet parking, driving in downtown St. Louis is a headache parking is even worse. $30...

Good looking hotel lobby and this hotel is quite close to the arch and the capital. View of the arch isnt the best from the room, but we could see it. We ordered the room service food and it was really not that good. The parking was good in the ramp across the street.
