“It's Just Custard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

It's just custard for gawd's sake! Our friends (locals) took us there but they couldn't explain the crowd either. Considering there is another Ted Drewes nearby that is serving the same stuff and doesn't have nearly the same crowd the experience of just being with a hundred people eating custard must be the explanation. OK, it was good custard but still...

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

Based upon friends recommendations, we headed here after a Cardinals game. We were a little turned off by the huuuuuge line, but rest assured it moves quickly and is WELL worth the wait. The frozen custard is the best I've ever had, even better than places in Wisconsin. The prices were excellent as well.

I suggest checking out their website for their menu and be prepared with your order when you get up to the window.

“Amazing concrete milkshakes”

We stopped while doing the route 66. The Dutchman concrete milkshake was just incredible. A must stop in Saint Louis.

“Worth the trip to St Louis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

This jem is a little off the beaten path but well worth the detour. Lots of fresh flavor combinations that match up well with the wonderful creamy custard. Service is fast even though there is often a line up, but hat gives you lots of time to think about what to try. Portions are generous and the banana split can almost feed a family of four so order accordingly. The only downside is they are not open over the winter months so if you are making a special trip to visit them you may want to call first.
