“Special Downtown Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

My family and I stayed at the Omni Majestic on July 4th while traveling through and this hotel proved to be a wonderful hotel. The lobby is small but the staff makes it more personal that way. Parking is limited, but again, the staff does provide valet parking. The room was spacious and very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom, also very fancy! There is a restaurant connected to the lobby, but we did not eat there. We chose to walk to the Arch, eating at a local pizza place (Sauce on the Side) down the street. YES, there are many local restaurants within walking distance! The hotel is within a good walk to the Arch as well as other surrounding attractions. It would be a bit of a walk to Busch Stadium to see the Cardinals, but doable. the next morning, my son and I walked to the City Museum, again, only a few blocks over (5-10 min. walk). Again, there are a number of great eating locations around City Museum!
This is a beautiful hotel, great location, convenient to area attractions, friendly staff and the price was very reasonable for a downtown hotel, especially on the Fourth of July!

Room Tip: Because of other tall buildings in the downtown area, do not plan to get a room looking out toward t...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely boutique hotel that is full of charm, character, & elegance. Every staff member here is committed to you, your comfort, and your visit to St. Louis. The guest service here is impeccable and unparalleled! Lauren recommended fabulous restaurants, Lauren (sp?) & Jim (I think that's his name) in the bar mix great drinks and supply you with friendly stories & convo, and John & Alicia at the desk are just exceptional. The hotel has a shuttle that John gladly told us about and drove us to dinner in, & when my call accidentally got disconnected while in our room, John came directly upstairs to see what I needed (just a few extra toiletries), & brought them right away! The room was clean, plush, & very comfortable. The hotel is almost 100 years old, and the furnishings, amenities, and style match its timeless elegance. I enjoyed the clean and modern fitness room, and the hotel's location is very walkable to the wonderful ball park, delicious restaurants & bars, and the stunning arch. I can't say enough about this fabulous property and its impressive, devoted, and absolutely amazing staff. Thank you very much, Omni Majestic!

Lots of character! This hotel is located downtown close to eateries, parks and has private transportation (in a black Lincoln navigator) - will get you anywhere you want to go within 3 miles. Since I enjoy historic/boutique hotels, I chose this one. Coming on Amtrak from Kansas City at 10:30 pm, the hotel picked me up in no time! Felt extremely safe since I was by myself.
The rooms are clean and spacious. The bed is so comfortable, it's like sleeping on a cloud! Drawback are the slamming doors in the am in the hall way from other suites. Found that the stairway doors have a slow/closing mechanism. I recommend this mechanism get placed on the suite doors. There are no flat screen tvs in rooms.
The staff is very nice- shout out to Stephanie, Alicia and John.
If you want to visit the arch, it's very close by!

We’re glad you took advantage of our private transportation. Our guests love it. For any future guests, please inquire at the desk about availability and we can schedule you for transportation within 3 miles. Thanks for your suggestion about the slow/closing mechanism. We’ll see if we can implement that in the future. We hope you will stay again next time you’re in town.

Great little hotel in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to great restaurants. The hotel is old and needs a little updating. But, the staff are outstanding. They will go out of there way to help you with anything you need, really make you feel at home. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful room, not the usual hotel room style. Able to actually control the room temperature without a loud AC. The extra niceties are what keep us coming back. The staff didn't know us but went out of their way to be kind. We took their shuttle to the baseball game but walked back that night after it was over. When I asked if there were vending machines on our floor, the lady at the lobby desk asked what I wanted to get and then went into the bar to get me 2 bottles of cold water (which she just gave to me)! The employees were nice to us each time we had contact with them (check in, shuttle, late night, and next morning at breakfast).

The hotel was nice, if a bit dated. We were initially worried about our room as there was immediately stairwell and elevator noise evident in the bathroom. Fortunately, it didn't disturb sleep. This was probably the worst rooom location in the hotel, and ultimately, it wasn't bad.

The staff was friendly, but not too helpful. We don't like to valet, so we parked at the 9th and Olive garage (one block away) for $16 for 24 hours. We walked or took the Metrolink (to the Central West End and Forest Park). When we asked at the desk how late the Metrolink ran, the answer was, "I don't know" and not, "Let me check." Since the station is only a block away, they should know. Overall, the location is great; you can walk anywhere downtown and there are restaurants nearby.

Room was fairly clean and the bed was comfortable. Definitely not a "green" hotel. They left the TV on all day while we were gone and still use incandescent light bulbs. Housekeeping only left one towel for the two of us the second day (when we would have been fine reusing). Had to request another towel.

Overall, decent, but nothing special.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. We’re sorry for not checking the Metrolink schedule for you as we should have in the first place. While we are not certified as a green hotel, if you sign up for our free Select Guest program, you can specify your room preferences, one being a green preference where we won’t replace the towels and sheets for a duration you specify. While you may try other hotels in the area, we hope you will still consider staying with us again in the future.

We just got home after a 5-night stay in St. Louis during the Fair St. Louis. We loved that the Omni was slightly removed from the craziness of the riverfront area during this time! The staff at the hotel went out of their way to greet us every day. The bartender in the Mahogony Grill was a super guy!! Certainly an older building, but that adds to the charm. The hotel offers a free shuttle to take you where you need to go. The Metro was only a 2 minute walk away as well. Only a 6 minute walk to Busch Stadium. We have stayed in multiple downtown hotels, but just may be making future visits to the Omni!

Room Tip: We booked a package that included parking (which is pricey in St. Louis Downtown) and daily breakfas...
