Have been meaning to try PW since it opened but never got around to it! Well Friday, we decided it was time to see what we thought. Arrived about 5:30pm and the restaurant was fairly empty. By the time we left, however the retaurant has filled up nicely with a mix of couples, friends and families. Our server, came by quickly got our drink order and answered questions about some of the menu items. He returned promptly with our drinks and we ordered. We decided to share the large BLT salad and an Applewood Smoked Bacon Carmelized Onion Pizza, Mozzarella chees and their Marinara sauce (sweeter than their pizza sauce). The salad was delish and good size portion for two to split.
The pizza's are only 12" and since this was dinner we asked if this would be adequate for the two of us. The waiter assured us we would be fine. Well the pizza was outstanding! The crust was not your traditional StL cracker thin but not as thick as the NY pizza's loved it. The pizza was served piping hot and they provide a nice slicer server in stainless not the cheapy plastic ones some retaurants use. My drink (ice tea) was refilled promptly and my dinner companion was asked about another wine serving. We were offered some tempting desserts but the pizza was quite filling and took a raincheck.
Bottom line we will be returning, service was great, salad was crsip, cold and delicious. The pizza size was more than adequate for two people and was great! Now we only need to figure out why it took us so long to try PW. We will be returning soon.
