I was nervous after reading some reviews on other sites, but our room and our experience was very nice. This is NOT a five star hotel, but I did not pay a five star price. Let me first say I had one of the dreaded south tower rooms. It is a longer walk from the garage, but no big deal. Bathrooms are small and dated, but quite clean and functional. If you have ever been to Europe, it will not be a problem. The rooms are smaller because they are angled, which is because they are in a round building. Still enough room for my family of four. The beds and the bedding were brand new and very comfortable. The location of this hotel makes up for any misgivings you may have. It is one block to Busch stadium and one block to the old cathedral which is at the edge of the Gateway Arch National Park. Contrary to other reports, check-in was fast and staff was outwardly helpful and courteous. Don't be afraid to give this property a chance.

We took advantage of a great deal we found on Travelzoo when we stayed at this hotel, so I am not sure how I would have felt if we had paid full price. When we checked in, we were initially given a room overlooking Busch stadium's blinding lights. This was resolved easily and without a hassle when we called the front desk and simply asked for another room. Within 5 minutes the bellman was there to escort us to a room on the arch side of the building. There, we were amazed at the un-obscured and perfectly "St. Louis" view of the arch. The room itself was quite nice, modern, and very clean. With the exception of the elusive concierge and one particular waiter in the Forth Street Grill, all of the employees of this hotel were extremely helpful and nice. If you are in town to see the sites, you can’t find a better place to stay. You can walk to the stadium, the Arch and Lacledes Landing, and you are less than a block from the expressway. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again when they offer specials.

We only stayed for one night, but this is about the tenth time we have stayed here. We live two hours away and love to visit St Louis!!! I have never had a bad experience here. Front desk was courtious as was the bell hops. We stayed in the North Tower, newly renovated. Yes, they are small rooms but we only sleep there. We had a great view of the Arch and the river. We will be back.

I spent 4 nights at the Millennium Hotel from May 12 - 15, 2005 and I had a great experience. I was so concerned by the negative reviews posted that I even made a simultaneous reservation at a second hotel as a back-up. I am glad that I ended up canceling that other reservation.
The Millennium is attractive, bright and open, with a beautiful lobby and fantastic views of the Arch.
I also found the criticisms of the staff to be unfounded. Every hotel employee I met was very pleasant and helpful including the front desk, bellmen, concierge, wait staff, room service and housekeeper.
My room was on the seventh floor in the north tower and had a great view. It was clean, attractive and fully functional. I happen to like modern furnishings, and it was tastefully done even if it’s not your style.
Please don’t be discouraged by the negative comments. I am a pretty seasoned traveler and the Millennium exceeded my expectations.
I rated it 5 stars for the value and quality of amenities for a hotel in its category. Additionally, I stayed there during a busy conference of 2,500 attendees and the hotel maintained high service standards throughout.
I should add that since I stayed in the north tower, I cannot say if south tower rooms are similar.

This hotel is old and outdated. Rooms were small and filthy...bathroom was small and moldy. Felt like we were in minimum security prison the way it is layed out. Only good thing is 1 block to Busch Stadium. 1 night was plenty, needs updating badly.
