Due to my flight schedule for a business trip, I wanted to check in a little early, about noon. The desk clerk told me that I paid for a really nice room (club level, king bed) and that my room was vacant but not quite ready. And if I could just wait a little longer, they would call me when my fantastic room was available. He said they could put me in a room now, but the room I reserved was worth the wait. Long story short, I inconvenience myself to kill the wait time only to return at 5 pm (still no phone call) to find out they don't even have a king bed available. Apparently I'm just assigned the leftover double bed. And instead of making it right, this new clerk claims that there's no record of a king bedroom ever being held for me, despite the indication by the previous clerk, oh, and that pesky reservation receipt I have. All this to get a room with two "barely there" beds, stained sheets, and a leaky rusted bathtub. Needless to say, I never expected this to be my experience at a Renaissance.
