Went to the Civil War and Washington exhibit. Very well done and you can learn a lot. They have duplicated what Washington looked like. He was a big man. They addressed the issue of Washington and slavery which gave both sides. A little difficult to find parking space.
We just visited the Mo. History Museum and took my son and his wife and was extremely disappointed. When I was younger and lived in St. Louis we went to this museum frequently and always enjoyed the exhibits. They have limited the musuem to one floor of nothing instead of three floors of great old artifacts. Will not be going back.
Everything. All history buffs should soak this in. St. Louis history is amazing! Loved the artwork, statues, history, pictures of old days long ago. Excellent Gift SHOP! History Buff books for all ages. Of all place to find it but I did get the Van Goh Umbrella here. Starry Night. Great selections of ornaments, toys, books, for all ages.
This museum is nice and they always great exhibits. If your in St. Louis you should definitely check it out.
We we're only able to see one exhibit because of time constraints, but if the rest do the exhibits are as well thought out as the World's Fair exhibit is, this museum is a real winner. There is just enough written material to explain the artifacts withoutnoverwhelming the visitors. The variety of items means that the visitor gets a panoramic overview of the fair, it's place in the history of St Louis and of the development do industry and technology.
