“Moonrise is Over the Moon!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2010

This hotel is a top notch place! My husband and I decided at the last minute to get concert tickets to a show at The Pageant in St. Louis. We wanted a place that was near by, so we got a discounted room online and this four star hotel was very four star with a casual low-key feel. The Moonrise :)

The staff was wonderful at the desk. And anyone we ran into in the halls, elevator - were attentive and friendly. The Pageant was right next door and we were steps away from getting to the concert early.

The room was clean and comfortable. Very spacious for laying out bags and suitcases. The bathroom sink area was too small for taste, but that is just because I like to lay everything out.

We enjoyed a fabulous time at the hip and trendy Rooftop Bar at the top hotel. Was a fantastic view of The Loop from the top of a hotel with comfortable seating. A little dirty and rough, BUT it is outside on the top of a hotel and it was at the end of the night.

The next morning we ate breakfast at The Eclipse downstairs. Great service and really good food. The french toast was top notch!

You can park in the back for free, which is great. I don't like feeling like I have to valet, because it is a nice hotel.

Then, oh yeah - we had the best night sleep ever in a hotel! It was in the top 3. I emailed the staff the next day or two and they responded quickly with what kind of bedding they use.

If you are going to a Pageant concert in St. Louis - You have to stay here. It is reasonably priced for a four star and is the perfect location! Near shops, music store, great food, etc.

LOVE IT!

Recently my husband and I stayed for our 5th time at the Moonrise Hotel in the past year. There are so many lovely details that delight us each time we stay. As members of the Your Desires program we have been given complimentary treats and beverages on each stay. In May our visit was near my birthday and they had a beautiful bouquet of pink balloons waiting for me in my room. We love the turn down service in the evening and the cute Moon Pies left for us. This last visit we were upgraded to a suite and our accommodations were literally "out of this world". We really loved the Rise and Shine breakfast and valet service option. Loved the Rooftop for warm balmy breezes and delightful nightcap. The Eclipse breakfast was so nice. Lots of attention to detail with our entree. Ripe, clean fruit was very much appreciated in contrast to the quality of fresh fruit served in many restaurants. Our server took care of us each morning and he was so professional and kind. The entire hotel staff seemed happy to see us every time we came in the door. The valet service was great, desk staff was kind and really seemed to care that we were well taken care of and happy. Our room was very clean, beds were super comfy, hotel was very quiet. We signed up for the 2 nights get the 3rd free deal and I truly believe it is the best deal in town. For the price we payed the value is unbeatable. We have stayed at many hotels in St. Louis over the last 30 years. None have come close to the quality for value at The Moonrise. I just can't say enough!

The staff is super friendly and eager to make your stay the best they can. The rooms are clean, comfy, with a cool theme. All the luxuries even a bath robe. There is a great roof top bar to have some refreshing drinks and take in the sites of the city. There is a train (public transportion) that you can easily access the hotel from the airport and it also connects you to the Arch, sports arenas and other sites. I will definately stay here on my next vistit to St Louis.

Had breakfast and dinner at the Eclipse and found both meals to be very good. Room in the "walk of fame' was cool, but not really worth the upgrade. Decent amenities and comfy beds.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Redd Foxx suite for our anniversary. The room was very comfortable and spacious, with great decor, and Redd memorabilia. The hotel is very service oriented, the staff went above and beyond, especially Jason at the front desk. The location is fantastic, close to Forest Park, the Hill, and of course the loop. The free parking is a plus, anyone who complains about it must usually stay at a Holiday Inn in the burbs! I loved the fact that they offer in room recycling. We usually lug home a garbage bag filled with our recyclables. It was very nice to not have to bother with that while on vacation. We have already started planning our next get-away to the Moonrise, love, love, love it!

This is a new boutique hotel, exceptionally agreeable and interesting. The moon is a theme, with interesting cartoons based on the moon in the rooms and a remarakable collection of Buck Rogers type artifacts in the public areas. The rooms are large, well laid out, internet works and bathroom well fitted out, and even a sleep inducing machine by the bed that can be set to different kinds of agreeable background sounds. The hotel and the rooms are spotless. A minor bother is that the coffee maker in the room has to be filled with a cup of water, the coffee maker cannot be moved because of the cord, and some water gets spilled in the process. Breakfast was well prepared, using good ingredients, and delicious. Staff are competent and very friendly. For sure, I will return! Very, very pleasant.

We had never heard of this hotel and were looking online for a place for an overnight getaway. I am so glad we took a chance on this hotel...everything was wonderful from the bed to the big shower head that came out of the ceiling. The Eclipse restaurant was delicious and the location was very nice...lots of neat little shops and restaurants although on Monday many of the stores are closed. Didn't go up to the rooftop bar but had a great view from our room. We purchased the add-on of free breakfast and valet parking and are so glad we did. Ask the gal at concierge desk...Galleria Mall is just a short distance from hotel. We had a great time and we will be back!!
