“Wonderful hotel with amazing staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I stayed at this hotel for two nights while attending a wedding in St. Louis. The entire experience was awesome from before we even checked in to the morning we checked out. The hotel is beautiful, they have done a really great job adding modern touches while preserving the historic nature of the building like the stained glass windows. The room was good for the price, the bed was extremely comfortable!

What really made the hotel stand out to me was all of the little extra touches and the friendly staff. There is a complimentary wine and beer reception with great bartenders who helped us pick a restaurant for dinner. There is a car service that will take you within 5 miles of the hotel, which was a total life saver for since I didn't know anything about the city and where things are located. The driver was fun and very friendly and always prompt when we requested a ride, we only had to take a cab once during the whole trip (thanks Kevin!!).

It is obvious that customer service is a high priority for the staff and management of this hotel, and it was greatly appreciated as an out of town guest to have so many friendly people help make the trip so pleasant. If I ever return to St. Louis I will stay here for sure!

Almost forgot the cookies they have before bedtime, or in our case before a night on the town are amazing :)

I stayed at this hotel for three nights for a recent business trip. The man that checked us in was so friendly. He told us all about the hotel and definitely mentioned that the Tesla was available to shuttle us within a certain radius of the hotel (I think it was five miles). He explained that the hotel was under construction and if we encountered any problems, to let him know. The rooms are beautiful. Very spacious, lots of outlets. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. I would say that it was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Loved it. The bar area is very spacious and the two women who were bartending while I stayed there were so friendly. Had dinner at the hotel one night, food was spectacular. Ate lunch there twice, soup was excellent. Loved that the bartenders even gave us some local restaurant recommendations even though they served food in the hotel. The wifi in the guest rooms worked great, never lost my connection. We were in the bar one night when they were setting up for photos for the hotel website. The Sales Manager gave us the desserts and champagne that they used for the shoot. Very nice, very friendly guy. The food and drinks in the restaurant are reasonably priced. You get two free glasses of wine each night between 5:30 and 6:30. It's a great place to unwind. Televisions in the room are nice, large variety of channels. There is a free continental breakfast in the morning. Fruit, yogurt, oatmeal and various pastries and breads to toast. Very nice. Coffee was pretty good as well.

If I had any complaints, it would be that we kept losing our internet connection in the conference room. There were also some problems with the hot water in some of the rooms (not mine). The conference room chairs are not the most comfortable and the room is configured a strangely. The ladies room on the 2nd floor is in a very dark corridor. This is also the corridor where you print your boarding passes. It is so dark that you literally can not see to type on the computer. Also the printer was not working.

I would stay there again. The friendliness of the staff goes a long way. And the beds were so comfortable. I plan on calling to find out what type of mattress and pillows were used. They were just the best.

I ranked it low in cleanliness only because parts of the hotel are still under construction.

I thought a little champagne and dessert would go a long way, but didn't think it would go this far!! You are outstanding and we thank you for the glowing review. (ps:- it was me who gave you the champagne, so I'm going to pat myself on the back a little later today...) Thanks for being a part of our photo shoot. Yes, we have a few things we're polishing up and fixing, but hearing from you about our incredible staff makes it all worthwhile. We'll also figure out what is going on with the dropped Internet in the meeting rooms - that's not good and we'll get it straightened out ASAP.
Thanks again to you and your entire group for giving our new hotel a try. We hope you come back soon! (Call us about the beds, we'll secretly tell you where we bought 'em)

The hotel have a very nice atmosphere. Rooms were great and the food tops a 4 star. I eat steak all over the world and this one was running in the same race as any 5 star. Only reason for 4 star as the hotel was still under construction. The Staff and manager were absolutely impeccable. I will stay at Magnolia again that's for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view as the buildings downtown are close.

bed was the best I have ever slept in, employees were so friendly and the atmosphere was 100% awesome! Got to use the hotels Telsa car was cherry on top. Stained glass everywhere art deco designs with modern décor was a wonderful breath of fresh air. happy hour down stairs caused us to just stay and enjoy the hotel one night instead of going out because it was so amazing.

Room Tip: king size bed, cant go wrong with that :)

Great location for our Cubs Cards game stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were in the lounge for a while after checkin and all the staff was friendly and welcoming. Nice room and perfectly located. We would stay there again if we were in St Louis it is near everything downtown and you can walk to the ball park and many very good restaurants are close.

We think you are a treasure for writing such nice things about us. We're not sure if you are a Cubs fan or Cards fan, but we'll defer on any comments there...We like you either way though! Thanks so much for the wonderful review and come back soon.
See you soon.

Excellent! Every staff member was more than helpful. Most attentive staff I have ever dealt with at any hotel. They have worked very hard to make this a nice place. Having only been open 3 weeks they were still trying to work out the bugs, but doing a great job of it! My only disappointment was the breakfast, it was advertised as hot so not what I expected (the oatmeal was hot and there was a toaster), but Matt said they are working on this. Will definitely stay here again when in downtown!

Wow, we're super excited about your note regarding our staff. We're pretty proud of them and we think they are awesome as well! We'll print out and post your comments so they know how cool they are - or, would their egos get too big? Hmm, we'll risk it. We are working a few kinks out since we're newly open, but we'll get 'em all figured out quickly. We just want everything to be perfect, so thanks for the feedback on breakfast. Matt is a good chap and he'll get it done.
Thanks again for the super nice posting. Our staff will love it.
Come back soon.

We stayed at the newly remodeled (not quite finished) Magnolia Hotel in downtown St. Louis for a baseball weekend. It's a short walk down 8th street to Busch stadium. Our room was clean and much larger than expected for a downtown hotel. We had two double beds in the bedroom with a separate living room area, split by French doors. The bathroom was a bit small but the huge sink/closet area made up for what the bath/toilet area lacked. There was no beer at the wine/beer happy hour but we survived. We chose to order food so we wouldn't have to pay stadium prices. We split a chicken Philly sandwich and a burger. Our friends ordered the pizzas and a burger. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The kids got unlimited Shirley Temples during happy hour, which they thought was really great. After the game, we returned to our room with half of the other family traveling with us. The French doors came in very handy as we sent the kids into the bedroom to watch TV while we chatted in the living room. We all slept very well in the beds. My son wants a mattress like that for his bed! The free continental breakfast was well beyond expectation with a selection of pastries, bagels, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and juices. We would stay at the Magnolia Hotel again in a heartbeat!

After reading your review, we decided we'd like to just join your family. We think you all are awesome. Now in regards to not having beer at the reception, that's not good and we'll dive into why that happened ASAP. Glad to hear the Shirley's were abound for the kids and we know how nice it is to let the kids watch some TV and Mom and Dad get some down time - so we're awfully glad those french doors came in handy.

Glad we could play a small part in your family outing to the ballgame and please do come back any time soon. We'll keep an eye out for your son and see if we can sneak a bed from the hotel into the car on the next visit...Thanks again for the glowing review. We sure appreciate it.
