We stayed at this hotel for one night on the fourth of July. It was fairly nice, but definitely not worth the price. To start with, when we arrived we found out that we had to park in a parking garage next door to the hotel for $16 extra, which was not mentioned to us when we booked the room. Also, upon arriving to check in a note was posted that the pool was closed and under construction still, and by reading some of the reviews on here, it has been under construction for quite some time. We were very dissappointed that we couldn't take a swim after attending a baseball game (we could actually walk to the cardinals stadium, so this was a great location) ,considering it was over 100 degrees outside. One good thing was the person at the front desk, he was very friendly and welcomed us and asked us how we were doing every time we came in. Like other people have mentioned, the elevators are small, but they can't change the size now, and there are three of them that move pretty fast, so it's not really a pain. Next, when we arrived in our room, we turned on both tv's and both of them had a lot of static, to where you could barely see the picture. I have seen better tv's in motels. And as far as the room temperature, yes it was a little warm (about 74-75 degrees) but its understandable considering the temperature outside, and we were on the 16th floor, far from the central AC. But the comfortable and cool beds made up for the warm room. Also, the room was layed out kind of differently from other hotels, but I liked the style. So all in all, it was a decent room, but it was not worth the $100 + $16 for parking. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

In spite of St.Louis' heat, we're happy to hear that you had a pleasant visit to the Mayfair.
As in most urban hotels, parking can sometimes be a challenge, both in availability and price. The price of $16 per night to park is about average for the city, and should be expected when visiting downtown hotels. We're sorry if it caused a shock.
We miss our pool too, and since it was damaged just prior to Memorial Day have advertised the lack of it on our website and all the on-line ones too. I do understand your disappointment, as it would have been a welcome respite from the heat.
As with all hotels, our rates do fluctuate with demand. You happened to visit us at a very busy time, and as such our rates were at the higher tier. If your plans ever bring you back to St.Louis, please check us out as we might be at a more palatable rate for you...even with parking!
Thanks for visiting, and for taking the time to comment.
