“Good hotel downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

This hotel is located downtown, right near The Arch and National Park. It was a short (5-10 minute) walk to the St. Louis baseball stadium. The AC outlets in the room were very difficult to locate, as they are black in color and blend in completely with the desk decor - it took me a LONG time to locate them. Refrigerators in room. Coffee maker in room. Starbucks and sports bar restaurant are also on site.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of The Arch.

Green Features: Seemed to be aware of "being green". Had the standard room information about conserving water, reusing towels, etc.

I enjoyed a return visit to the Hyatt to catch a few baseball games. The location is great for having access to Busch stadium and ballpark village along with the fine restaurants and activities downtown. Our room was clean and very nice and the staff was very attentive and helped us avoid conflicts with a large group that was staying at the hotel as well. We had a late night snack at the Brewhouse and enjoyed the food and drinks. The breakfast at red was good as always and very filling with lots of fresh fruit and the regular breakfast foods.

My only negative is that the tv had horrible reception and many channels did not work. Not that big of a deal but we could not watch the weather channel to make plans for the day.

Extremely overpriced and, I don't just mean the room. Everything here is extra...way extra. From the $3.00 each bottled water (that is not even spring water), to the $.40 a minute pc rental, to the breakfast buffet, to the bar food, and to top it all off $28.00 (plus tip) valet parking that they don't tell you is only valet at check in. When you check out you have to go down 2 flights of stairs to a gas fume smelling, non-air conditioned, creepy basement garage. Never pay for the valet at this location. When it all boils down you get a 5 star lobby with small decent rooms for an extremely high price. Ownership should try out the Drury Plaza next door to truly see what a nice hotel is like.

We have stayed here numerous times when we come to town for Cardinals games. The location is very good being right by the arch and about 3 blocks from Busch Stadium. Lots of nearby restaurants too. Had trouble getting our 3 rooms next to each other after being told they would be. Also think that the $28 parking is a little steep. All in all a nice place to stay, we will be back.

Hyatt Regency St. Louis have the berst view in town on the best attraction : St. Louis Arch. We we're upgraded to a large corner view. We could not expect better view! Otherwise, this property doesn't have a swimming pool and rooms need to be renewed.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room with arch view. Rooms facing east or north face should be avoided.

Green Features: No recycling available. It should be a standard in hotel in 2014!

This is an excellent hotel. The staff is top notch. It is a little pricey, but some of the best, if not the best service that I have had in the St. Louis area. The worst thing was the price of the parking. We usually park our own, but considering the parking in the area, valet is definitely the way to go. You are minutes away from Busch Stadium. Since we were there for a game, that was a big sell for us. We have stayed at different hotels in the area, but this one is by far, the best. They have an excellent breakfast buffet also. I cannot say enough about the staff. Friendly and attentive. An all around great weekend stay!

Because I paid $220 on Expedia, instead of $300 or $280 or whatever price on Hyatt.com, I have been put into a smoking room. The website did not outline this policy, and I feel like i should have been at least warned that I'd be forced to accept a smoking environment because I booked through an alternate website.
The front desk was not helpful at all. I'm beyond disappointed in Hyatt, and though I used to appreciate and frequent their hotels, this will definitely change my travel plans in the future. Hyatt will no longer receive my travel business, work or personal.
