“Limited menu, great service, good food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

The crab abd corn bisque was awesome. It is actually a small crab cake that comes with a bisque poured on it at the table. I ordered the pan roasted chicken and it was a little bland but still moist and tender. The bread and butter left a lot to be desider---the house butter has mustard seeds in it which is interesting but not to my liking. The bread seemed to have been just some loaf bread---not very appetizing and a disappointment. The peach desert was awesome! I requested that they add pecans to it and it was just wonderful. They have a great selection of wines. Eric was my server and he was excellent---very attentive and friendly without being overbearing.

“Great service, interesting food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

I liked the fact that the waitress was attentive and the manager was also on the floor making the rounds. The decor is upscale, but the chairs could be more comfortable to sit in. Your water is brought to you in a bottle kept chilled in a nearby ice bucket - points for originality there. The house bread is pretzel bread serve with a mustard-infused butter which was a nice pairing. Had their popcorn rock shrimp - they did the classic "Chinese take-out food" presentation, but had the takeout container filled only with shrimp (i.e. no lettuce or rice noodle filler) and the sauce was on the side. Nicely done and great visual presentation. The crab and corn bisque was presented with a bowl featuring just a miniature crab cake, after which the waitress poured the bisque in. While good, I would have preferred a greater accent on the corn taste, but that's a personal preference. Entree was the pecan-crusted halibut upon a bed of wilted spinach. They served a nice-sized portion of halibut, much more than I was expecting! Definitely a nice experience, with interesting takes on all of their presentations.

I've been here several times and each time the food was very good. Often the specials are creative and delicious.

“Wonderfull Brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2008

On the last day of our trip to St Louis, a Sunday, we decided to visit the Union Station. Around 12:30 we stopped in to the Station Grille in theHystt for brunch.

The hotel is very upscale and the restaurant is no different. It was very clean and had the classic archtecture flowing over from the station. The layout worked well for brunch and looked like it woudl be a great place for dinner. It had a separate bar area and you could see the grill from the dining room and see the chefs prepare the meals, similar to more modern restaurants.

The variety of food was very good and far beyond what we expected. One menu item described two eggs, choice of sausage, potatos and toast. The plate had roasted potatos, with egg and bacon, and asparagus. At first it seemed odd having asparagus with a breajfast meal but it was actually very good and fit very well. The other orders had similar surprises that made the meal a stand out. There were no negatives with the food in anyway and the waitress was very attentative. While teh check in a hotel like the Hyatt will be more expensive than a Denny's it was not exorbitant - we averaged about $18 per person including tip.

As far as "crowds", it was fairly empty with just one party of three who preceeded us and a party of two who arrived after us. I think this is not a sign of the hotel's normal business but St Louis ovorall that weekend (early August 2008). As we walked around the city it was farily empty, even on Friday afternoon at lunch time when you would expect office workers to be running errands. My guess is that it is more busy when conferences adn conventions
are in town.
