“Great for younger children”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

We visited the science center with two grandchildren aged 11 and 13. Other than the IMax film, there wasn't much that held their attention. My wife is a retired middle-school science teacher and she said she was really disappointed. However, she did think that it would be a great place to take younger children 8 and under. We did not visit the planetarium but I have heard good things about it.

“Great for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

This museum is geared towards children, but there are things that are interesting for adults as well. What is nice is that there are so many hands on exhibits for the children. There are workers that will invite the kids to do an experiment, and there are live shows/demonstrations. The SLSC also has a planetarium, an IMAX theatre, and an area for traveling exhibits, i.e. Body Worlds.
There is free parking right next to the James S. McDonnell planetarium, which is on the other side of I-64 in Forrest Park. Spots are limited, so get there early.

“Good for the Young”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

I went with a six and eleven year old and they enjoyed it. I wouldn't suggest going if you have older kids or just for yourself. It is free to get in but parking is $10 and if you want to do the simulator or IMAX movie there is a charge for those. The staff is very nice and it's very very clean. We went to one of the movies and it was really enjoyable but this is not one of the bigger or better science museums we have been too but it's good for younger children.

“Place for a family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

If you haven't been to Science center you should definitely make time to visit this on a weekend with your family ( this place is fun for kids). Lots of practical scientific displays are here, kids actually get to see how stuff works here.

Time for a complete visit : a full day

Lunch can be brought at the food court

It has a Omni MAX theater for short duration movies.

If you still have time left in the day, then there is a Botanical Garden nearby just as beautiful as this
