My family travels to Saint Joseph fairly frequently, and decided to try the Hi-Ho for the first time. Our kids are 7 and younger, so we called ahead first, and made sure that the place was kid-friendly. (It is a bar & grill, after all). The employee said they could handle us, and we're glad we made the trip down. We sat at a large table near the main bar, and all (both patrons and staff) were very friendly. The food was typical bar food -- my wife had a reuben, and I had a tenderloin -- but sometimes that's exactly what you want. The Hi-Ho chips were amazing, and our kids were able to eat grilled cheese, hamburgers, and fries. Prices were pretty reasonable, too. I think our total bill was less than $25, which isn't that much more than a fast food meal for us.
This might not be right for every family, but if you are looking for an older establishment near downtown, this place works well.
