“Fascinating museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

I went to the Patee House Museum about 10 years ago, and visited it again just last weekend. It has a ton of stuff to look, it covers a bit about the pony express, St Joseph, Jesse James, and the hotel. It takes at least an hour to go through and look at everything. There is so much to look at, I'm not sure you'd ever really see everything. They also have a little game to play at some of the exhibits. You look at each one to see what item doesn't belong there; it's fairly easy and they sell score cards at the front desk for 25 cents. They also have an old saloon in part of the museum that sells drinks and popcorn. They also have a carousel for children to ride. The museum was only 6 dollars, well worth the money!! Don't forget to visit Jesse Jame's house located behind the museum.

“A lot of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

There is so much history here it is hard to remember it all! From the Poney Express to Walter Cronkite. From a covered wagon to a Locomotive Train. There are 2 stories full! Jesse James home is next door.

“Back in Time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Great museum of the history of St. Joseph, MO. Lots to look at, well presented, and professionally displayed. It houses the memorabilia of the City and its residents.

St. Joseph has a lot of history, as the Pony Express started here, and many of the wagon trains heading West started from here. The City was home to all the live stock packing houses at one time, "Indian Chief" red tablet Paper Company and Stetson Hats.

As you continue your tour, you find yourself in the house that Jesse James lived in.

Give yourself a couple of hours. We can easily come back for another visit, there is always MORE to see!
