We were booked into the Embassy for two days of meetings in late June. I used the computer kiosk to check-in but there were plenty of staff at the front desk as well. By using the kiosk, I was able to pick a room from open inventory which, while not my first choice, met my needs and was available immediately. Unless there is a line at the front desk, I think that checking in with a person is actually faster. The staff was helpful and eager to please throughout my stay. The suites were of good size and in good repair. The beds were very comfortable as well. I was unable to connect to the internet while there but that was not a huge deal as we had little free time. There were a few cardio machines in the small exercise room which adjoins the pool and whirlpool. While compact, it was uncrowded and well kept with a small outdoor patio just beyond. There is no place one can walk to but, if you are without a car as I was, the hotel shuttle will take you to downtown St. Charles where you can stroll. I normally prefer a place where you can walk to restaurants and such. Still, given some of the places that our company hosts functions, I was really happy with the hotel and, if I found myself in St. Charles again, I would stay at the Embassy Suites.

I recently stayed here for a "girls weekend" with a friend from the area. It was a wonderful place. The included breakfast was a great savings. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The suite was clean and comfortable and we had plenty of room. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in the area.

Stayed at the Embassy Suites for one night in early April as we were producing an event at the attached St. Charles Convention center.
We were there on a blustery day following an outbreak of tornadoes, and there was not much traffic in the hotel or in nearby St. Charles. This hotel is almost brand new and I would highly recommend it to business travelers. The atrium lobby is typical for an Embassy Suites but has a new check area with kiosks instead of one front desk. A little confusing, but has a very personal feel to it. I liked the warm colors and lush landscaping around the bar and restaurant.
The staff was great – very helpful and friendly. I also appreciated the free shuttle to St. Charles area casinos and shops.
The convention center next door is gorgeous and you don’t have to go outside to access it. Most of the parking seemed to be in the back of the hotel however. There is a small coffee/gift shop in the lobby of the hotel and a small business center. I didn’t try the free cocktail hour or made to order breakfast since we ventured out to nearby St. Charles once the event was over. Choose Harrah’s over AmeriStar if you’re visiting casinos. The difference is huge.
We did eat at the hotel restaurant for lunch one day and the food was marvelous. The service was very slow, however and the bartender from the lobby was our waiter (this could have been due to the previous night’s storms keeping some staff home).
The rooms are typical for Embassy Suites - two rooms, two TVS, one smallish closet and a small bathroom with a nice marble vanity. The bed and linens were wonderful, though, and looked brand new. Lots of pillows made it a very comfy place to watch TV.
I have no major complaints at all except that at least one free bottled water ($4 each in the room) and a nice robe would have made my stay even better. If you’re staying longer, the fridge, microwave and living area (complete with dining table) would really come in handy.

New hotel. Comfy beds. Clean and quiet. Pleasant staff. The only negative was there was a bit too much of air freshner when first entering the room. However, it was a really nice place.

Brand new hotel, so it's spotlessly clean. Rooms are amazingly quiet, spacious, and well appointed. Public areas are large and appealing, providing many options for small groups to gather. Reaonsable room rate (we paid $125) including extensive breakfast offerings and a manager's reception in the evening. Nice fitness center, but a little small. Hotel could use more elevators. Parking is not in close proximity to the lobby. Ridiculous to have to pay extra for internet access is this level of a hotel. All in all, it was a pleasant stay; but they made some questionable decisions on the design.
