“Quick trip to St. Louis”

We needed to make a quick trip to St. Louis and needed a hotel close to the airport for one night. The Hampton Inn was a perfect fit for our needs. The hotel is on the other side of the interstate from the airport and they have a shuttle that runs all day. We experienced flight delays and arrived around midnight. After picking up our luggage we called the hotel and the shuttle picked us up right away.

The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful and they did a good job with breakfast. I believe they will allow you to park at the hotel when you fly out of St. Louis, so this hotel is a great option.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Room was very clean & comfortable. Front desk was friendly & helpful. Breakfast buffet was very good; & they did a good job at keeping the area clean throughout the entire breakfast time, unlike some hotels. Nice to have a micro & fridge in the room. Also enjoyed the one cup coffee maker; much more sanitary than the coffee pot type.

I was in the area for business for the first time and stayed here per a recommendation from colleague. The good: room was clean and bed was comfortable. Lots of channels on flat screen TV. Free Internet. The bad: beware that you have to call for the shuttle and watch carefully for it. After watching several other hotel shuttles come and go on schedule, I called the hotel to find this out then waited outside at the designated spot at least 30 minutes, I finally chose to take a taxi. Not a lot of food choices within walking distance in the area. There was only one choice located next to hotel across parking lot. Not wanting to go out after a long trip, ordered pizza that arrived lukewarm. Only vending machines in the hotel and no stores within walking distance so be sure you have everything you need before you get there unless you have a car.

This hotel was okay. I would rate it average for Hampton Inns. We had no problems. Front desk staff was accommodating. I would probably stay here again. Convenient to have microwave and refrig in the room.

Its an older style HI, not suites! Lacks outlets, though some are on the end of the desk but the light is plugged into one! OK interent this time, staff welcoming, its an airport business hotel and overall OK. Fitness center still lacking, breakfast standard HI. No USA Today delivery to rooms which is a diamond standard most everywhere. Clean, a little smoky, good shuttle, cant go wrong.

After have a DELTA flight canceled, I was sent to Hampton Inn by the voucher given by the Delta attendant. However, they don't accept Delta vouchers there! The manager, called Peggy, tried to find roon in others hotels around that take Delta vouchers, without success. However, give me 30% off the normal rate to stay there and ask for refund after. Nice room, good TV and bathroom. Nice breakfast too. Free Internet. Small Gym.

The pluses:
-An ok'ish hot breakfast
-Close to the airport
-Microwave in room
-Mini fridge in room
-Free Internet (please see below re: further details.
- to go breakfasts prepackaged

The Minuses:
-Free Internet was very slow most of the time. Like dial up speeds slow.
-1 staffer at the front desk was not really friendly. She wasn't necessarily rude, but she just didn't show the type of customer service I would expect.
-Also, we were here 5 days and passed multiple staff and no one ever asked how our stay was going. I'm not expecting full service just common courtesy.
-the area by the ice machine had a weird smell. I also noticed it in my bathroom. Perhaps water or mildew. Wasn't bad enough to move rooms, but it was noticeable.
- this was more of an annoyance than anything, the privacy door hang fell off Everytime I opened and shut the door. It's purely a design flaw in the door hang and where the slit is located. Perhaps a better idea would be the privacy tags that stick into the card slot like many other hotels have.

Even though we found out that the Drury actually owns this Hampton, I would have preferred to stay there. Not too thrilled about this stay. I'm just glad it was a company trip and not a personal one.
