This motel is a fine example of a very basic, no frills motel that is just good enough for a nights stay and a barely adequate breakfast the morning after.
It is located just off of I-44 in Rolla, MO about 100 miles southwest of St Louis. Generally a convenient location. There are a couple of restaurants right there, if one
desires a better breakfast in the morning.
My room was a single king, non-smoking. A small but fine room that was clean and odor free. It had both a microwave and a mini-fridge for guest use. The tv and the remote were also fine. The air conditioner seemed new and cooled the room well once I turned it on. The ice machine worked well. The room/motel was quiet and provided a nice nights sleep.
The breakfast the next morning was as dull as could be. Milk and cereal. Store bought doughnuts from a box. Off tasting orange juice. Yes, it was all-you-can-eat, but just dull. Just enough to fill you up until you can get a good lunch somewhere such as in Joplin, Tulsa or St Louis.
The staff that I encountered were friendly and helpful. No complaints.
I paid for my room with points accumulated on my ChoiceHotels account. It was only 8,000 points, which I thought was a deal. When I made the reservation on the phone the man assisting me told me that it was normally $64.99 + tax for that room. Wow. If I had had to pay that I would have felt a bit swindled. Especially for that area. I bet one could find better hotels with better breakfasts for that or less. I would shop around before paying $65 per night plus tax for this place.
Be nice to the front desk staff.
