“Rustic, for sure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Stayed here one night. Clean. Pretty basic. Nothing fancy. Very nice staff at front desk. At least they had a room on a night that Poplar Bluff was having a blizzard ! We skipped the breakfast so we could hit the road early, so no info on breakfast.

This is a favorite place of mine Clean room, helpful front desk. Its a short stagger away from Their bar, and there is a huge danceclub named Scooters a short walk away on the same road. I suggest getting a second floor room, so you can enjoy the view of their pond. Free continental breakfast was so-so, but everything else was great.

Great, comfortable hotel. The front desk is very accommodating and make you feel welcome! Comfortable beds and linens. Loved the fluffy towels and decorations! Be sure to check out the pub next door- you'll never see anything else like it!

My husband and I were passing through Poplar Bluff late last night. We checked with all the other hotels, and they were either sold out, or too pricey for as late as we were stopping (and as early as we were getting up). $120.00 for a few hours of sleep is not our idea of a bargain!

I called Bullwinkles and spoke with Anne, who gave very good directions, and who was extremely helpful! When we arrived, she got us checked in, but was so much more than just professional and friendly! She was quite helpful and hospitable--a real person!

When we got to our room, I immediately noticed how huge the room was--we were on the 2nd floor, so the ceilings were vaulted, the room and vanity area were bigger than usual. We had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and Anne even gave us extra coffee, cream and sugar! ;0)

The towels and washcloths were not your usual "white-ish" (as in, used to be white but now we don't care that they are stained), but were green towels you might buy for your house, fluffy, and smelled good, like fabric softener.

It had a guest room feel to it, and we would definitely recommend it! The only slight negatives were that the room was really hot and the a/c didn't cool down fast enough for us, the showerhead seems like it could be replaced, and it was $93.00, which was still a slight bit more than we wanted to pay. But we would definitely stay here again!

I stopped here March 30, on my way to Houston Texas with my 2 children. I was driving from Indiana and the name caught my eye. It was midnight when we arrived and the clerk was very friendly, the room was spacious, there was a lot of towels. They had a simple breakfast consisting of muffins, coffee, juices, cereals and fruits. I'll be back for sure.
