“Amazing honeymoon experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

The staff was very hospitable and incredibly nice. We loved our water and beach villa and would go back. If you can afford the higher price, the water villa is the way to go. We loved the happy hour by the pool and went there every day. Despite it being rainy we enjoyed the activities at the recreation center and relaxing in paradise.

This is NOT a Hilton! - Even if it were, it would not make a difference.
Don't choose this place. It's a massive tourist trap.

1. Too far to travel and very expensive ($550 per person for seaplane - crazy!)
2. Bad service. Terrible, rude and unsympathetic Northern Maldivian staff - not Sri Lankan natives like in the southern atolls - they are very nice and friendly and know great service.
3. Restaurants are purposefully booked out so that they can drive you to the super expensive options.
4. Rooms (especially water villas) are not in any nice coral areas. It's just deep water. Terrible for kids to swim around the room - it's not what you expect from a Maldivian water villa.
5. This place is now a hot spot for unsuspecting Nuevo Rich Russians and Chinese who do not know better and think - expensive is better...
I've been to the Maldives a dozen times and trust me I will never go to this place or another Hilton again. Hilton does not own their hotels. They rent them and at any given point in time the hotel you purchased will not be a Hilton any more. That happened to me on arrival with my family and there was absolutely no recourse and both sides Hilton and the new owners washed their hands off the problem.
DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE. DO NOT CHOOSE A HILTON EITHER.

Room Tip: Don't choose this hotel or another hilton. Water villas are just rooms in deep water. No corals.

We have three children and finally decided to get married, we were lucky enough to go on honeymoon and leave our children with the in laws.
Well all I can say it was the holiday of a lifetime.
We loved every minute of our ten ten days we had there. The food, staff, accommodation and surroundings was exceptional, it was a holiday of a lifetime.
We recommend every one to the island and we plan to go back for my 40 th, although we have heard that Hiton are no longer running Iru Fushi, we do hope that whoever takes over, runs it just as we'll as the Hilton did, Credit to you!!!!

Room Tip: Deluxe beach villa, best of both worlds.

Spent thousands on this trip to the Maldives Iru Fushi. Was booked when it was still the Hilton Iru Fushi, and then without notice-- Hilton was booted off the island. I was nervous, but carried on with my plan of staying there. When we arrived, we were left waiting for a long period of time at the check in. We got to our room and noticed how poorly supplied it was (assuming removed all Hilton stuff). Minimal manning on the island, bad tiles everywhere and just overall very creepy and poor service. Go to another resort.

Recently my Fiancee and myself we stayed at Iru Fushi for 6 nights.
When we arrived at the Resort the room which was allocated was not the room of our preference, yet when checking at the reception they were very helpful and the day after we got a option of several rooms (this of course is only possible if its low season or subject to availability). The day after we were moved to a stunning room(even though it was not in perfect condition) and on the 'Lagoon' side of the island (the less windy one).
Once that was done we had a great time, combined with the lucky weather and the AMAZING staff, who made our stay unforgettable.
Even though we can always point out negatives, I believe that whoever can afford to go on such a vacation should appreciate what we have.
The Happy hours at Reflections always were a nice way how to end the daylight and the food at Iru restaurant finalized great days.
The food and beverages on the island, or on the Maldives in general a fairly priced, given the fact that logistics is a challenge and to have alcohol in a Muslim country is a luxury, thats why reasonably high prices are acceptable.
Overall we had a great time and would surely recommend the resort (but get the rooms on the less windy side of the Island)!!!

Room Tip: As previously mentioned, choose a room on the less windy side as it gets very 'breezy' on th...

We travelled with the family of 4 in mid December just before the high season and when the resort was still managed by Hilton. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and we appreciated the upgrade we received to a garden pool villa. We were told by friends who stayed here before to avoid the lagoon side near the plane jetty as the noise from the planes would be disturbing. Although it was a busy period with many arrivals and departures, I found the activity on the lagoon rather fascinating and the planes not disturbing at all. Facilities were ample, rooms were very well kept and clean and the dive school is highly recommendable. As the resort was heavily occupied by honeymooners, we had the luxury of being only a handful of divers going out every day. The team there did a really great job. A small point to improve would be the food and beverage offerings. Although there were sufficient dining choices, the food from outlet to outlet resembled somewhat and we certainly would have welcomed a more local touch in at least one of the venues. The chef in IRU restaurant organised a special indian dinner for us on one night and it was outstanding. It was the best meal we had during the week in which we stayed. There is an Asian noodle restaurant, but the dishes there were rather disappointing although it was a nice setting for a quick lunch.
Our beach chairs in front of the villa were here and there occupied by others and we had to go look for chairs further away, occupying those of another villa. Noticed on the other side of the island that the chairs were assigned with a villa number which could solve the problem. A tip to travellers, ensure you arrive before 4 PM in Male so you can connect to the resort on the same day, as the stopover in the capital is not worth the money.

We stayed at Horizon Water Villa--- spacious room, superb view with private jacuzzi and veranda. We love the fact that we can take a dip whenever we want. Water is crystal clear and I was lucky to see baby shark and turtle.

Restaurants:
1. Islander Grill: excellent fresh food, excellent service ( staffs are friendly, professional, efficient).
2. Flavors: good food, ok service
3. Trio: good food, service a bit slow
4. Iru: ok food, swift service

Staffs are overall friendly and helpful. Love the housekeeping service, swift service and our room was clean while we had the breakfast. Love the no extra charge for snorkeling equipments.

The only cons:
Just a bit long check in and luggage delivery, but the view at the seafront helps with the waiting.

Overall, we love the beautiful nature, scenery of Iru Fushi.

Room Tip: Horizon water villa is perfect for those who prefer privacy. Room 433 is perfect.
