“Great Property but No A+ Service!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2006

Came on a mother/daughter weekend. We were amazed at how big the property was all lit up at night and we were surprised at how many Vegas-like ammenties the casino had to offer. But a good service experiences were few and far between. The employees generally acted as though we were getting on their nerves. We stressed several times that there were three people sharing one room but they still stuck us in the smallest one they had and we couldn't get anyone to answer the phone when we called about possibly switching.

The food was great at the Range Steakhouse and we had a great lunch buffet. However, the weekend brunch buffet was overpriced considering the poor quality of the offerings and the lack of variety (mostly breakfast food and no desserts!). The casinos was large and had a ton of penny slots but it wasn't well planned out.

I've stayed at a decent number of Harrahs properies and this is the only one where I couldn't find a comment card. Go Figure! We did complain to a manager before we left and he seemed genuinely surprised about the long list of problems we had. Hopefully, what we experienced was an aberration.

We stayed at Harrahs for our wedding anniversary in May 2005. We got a fantastic price since it was mid week ($59). Our room was very nice and the bathroom was beautiful. The hotel and casino were new and very clean. The casino had two themed areas. They also had a snack bar in each area and drink stations so we were able to snack cheaply and get sodas when ever we wanted without having to tip or wait for the waitresses next trip by the nickel slots. I would go again in a heart beat. Also went to the Arch on Memorial Day. Great day to go, it was not busy.

The Casinos and rooms are very nice. They are very clean and spacious.
I do feel they are a bit pricey. I can fly to Vegas and spend 3 night for what it would cost me for 4 nights at Harrah's St, Louis. Considering all the ammenties Vegas has, I don't plan on going back to Harrah's St Louis.

We love to go to Harrah's Hotel and Casino. The rooms are always clean and the staff helpful and friendly. There are several restaurants in the complex, all with excellent food. An upscale steakhouse, a huge buffet, a great seafood restaurant plus several others. As someone else said, they are generous with their comps and we get free rooms about every month! The security is good, and the parking is easy. There are two different casino's so you can diversify if you get bored. We usually come out fairly even, sometimes good and sometimes not, but more often than not it is to the good. The Mardi Gras tower is newer, but the Island tower is great also. The rooms have a refrigerator and nice big TV's. You can arrange "special" packages for a romantic getaway or a birthday where they will have some special things waiting in the room for you like a birthday cake or bottle of wine. We try to get there several times a year.

My husband and I always have a wonderful time when we stay here. Harrah's is very generous with their comps and we get free room offers several times a year . The rooms have 32" TV's and marble bathrooms and are clean and very nice.
