This was our first time staying in a La Quinta, we normally frequent Holiday Inn, or Hilton brand hotels. I waited too long to book a room for a vacation and ended up with not much left in the price range I was looking for for multiple days at a time. I had read the mixed reviews and didn't know what to expect, but as always you hope for the best. I was impressed with the lobby and friendly desk staff when I checked in. Our room was on the front door side, opposite the interstate, and we didn't notice any noise from traffic. The foot traffic in the building was normal as well as neighbors. I didn't notice any pet related issues, once while walking down the hall to the ice machine which is on the south end of each floor I heard a small dog barking. I assumed it was left alone in a room, due to not hearing an owner try to quiet it. The motel did have some age to it, and it is in need of minor repairs here and there. As previously mentioned the shower faucets seem loose, and will spin or nearly spin all the way around. The shower head had about 4 different positions, but it appeared the one in our room was stripped out, and wouldn't change from it's position setting. The back of the bathroom door had some peeled paneling, possibly due to prior pet scratching. The carpet had a few bumps in it. The walls had some areas which needed repainted. The fitness center appeared to be in good shape and easily accessible, only saw 1 person using it the entire several days we were there. Although we spent more time gone. The TV channel selection was limited, and while it was raining very hard many of the channels would go off the air. The air conditioner would not cycle correctly, it ran all the time even on the auto settings, but you could hear the compressor come on to cycle the cool air when it got to the temperature threshold to make it activate. It did provide a comfortable experience. The beds were comfortable and the overstuffed pillows were great! The wife thought she got bit the first night on her ankles while in bed, we attributed it to being probably fleas, since I had checked and was unable to find any signs of bed bugs. The breakfast was great for us, with muffins, cereal, make your own waffles, yogurt, fruit, and fruit juice, really it was adequate for us. I can't recall any major issues, and would stay at this location again.
