“Great visit to Laura's home...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We were there on the second day of the season, so a few of the more valuable pieces (Pa's fiddle, the original manuscript) hadn't been taken out of the vault for viewing yet.

The tickets cost $10 for adults, but that includes the museum, the farm house, and the Rock house that Rose built for her parents.

Everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable. There was a special needs child in our tour group, and the tour guide was great to answer her questions and help her to understand the different things she was interested in.

“A Wonderful Historic Landmark”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

I loved reading The Little House Books by Laura Ingalls Wilder as a child, and reading them to my elementary classes as a teacher for many years. It was such a treat to visit the home where Laura wrote her books and the museum with so many of her things. We all enjoyed our visit very much!!

“We considered it a 'must see' for Laura fans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

My grandson and I are huge Laura fans, and this was probably our favorite of the sites we've seen so far which include (Walnut Grove and Plum Creek MN and De Smet SD. We enjoyed hearing how the house began as just a very small old cabin and Almanzo slowly added on. It was neat to see the fireplace Laura 'coerced' him to build and imagine what a job that was hauling all the stones. We just loved being where they lived, and seeing items that belonged to them that they used regularly. Pa's fiddle was even there in the museum.

“Very Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Laura was a celebrity here in town and the old timers have stories to tell yet. You'll see things just like they were and get to understand her life and times a lot better for going there.

As a child who watched little house every week I was so excited when I got to visit this home. It was awesome.
