“Treetops resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

The house was old but clean (unit# 6); positioned on the hill with the view of the lake and close to a golf course. Very good location. We went for a longer weekend in November and enjoyed quiet area. There is an indoor pool for kids to play in, but I can tell this is a fun area in the summer. Planning to come back again.

“Wouldn't stay again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Where to begin...we drove from Illinois arrived earlier then expected so called to see if we could check in earlier OR use the pool while we waited to check in. We were rudely told no that was not a possibility.

The condo looked very quaint from the outside but inside it was very outdated I think they have been using the same comfortors since the 80's they were so worn down and thin. Box T.V. and small T.V. in mastor bedroom.

I couldn't believe that they did not have Wi-Fi. I had to do some business while I was away so I spent the whole morning one day at at&t so I could make my phone a hot-spot.

They are a stickler for rules such as you get fined if you get locked out or leave towels over the railings. And you have to leave the place looking clean if not they take pictures! (not like we are messy but they should have those requirments for whomever does the cleaning; because you could see all the dust on the vents and the Shower curtains were dirty as well. Not ideal for someone with allergies.

Got horrible sleep the mattresses were uncomfortable could feel the springs in all mattresses even the pull out. Sleep on couch most of the time trying to get better sleep, but got headaches from having such horrible sleep.

Bath Tubs are the size of a soap box car very small.

One of the reasons we got a condo was so we could cook our own meals. The kitchen was very small only enough room for one cook, and none of the pots had lids on them.

I didn't mind this but if your older your might have a problem with the 40 step of stairs to get to the front door of the condo.

Perhaps this was a nice place back in the day, but they really need to have better customer service. In addition, do some updating we felt like we were camping indoors. We shortened our stay we were so uncomfortable!

“Here's the story . . .”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

The architecture of the standalone units is actually pretty cool in a 70’s Brady Bunch house kind of way. Other than the new granite counter top and kitchen sink and faucet, nothing appears to have changed since it was built.

Pros:
We stayed in unit 57. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, mixer, and blender.

The tree house feel of the units was really nice and even though our unit wasn’t far from the main road, it was quiet and peaceful. There was view of the lake, albeit from a distance.

Cons:
As other reviews mentioned, this place is “fine” happy. Some fines are understandable, others sound like extra income earners.

Apparently, you can still smoke in hotels here, so the lingering smell of cigarettes is prevalent. We bought a Glade plug-in to mask the scent.

The master bedroom was on the main floor and faced the road. The plastic vertical blinds didn’t meet in the center, so there was a gap between the two sections of blinds that offered an opportunity for passer-bys to peep in. The heater/ac vents were directly below the plastic blinds, so when the ac kicked on, the blinds were tapping away. A pillow in front of the blinds stopped the noise.

The master tub was stained. Since we only used it as a shower, I didn't try to clean it, so I don't know for sure if the stains could be removed with a good scrub or not. I certainly would not have used it for a bath. There was a blob of plaster missing from the ceiling.

The other two bedrooms were in the loft above and on the lower level. The loft bedroom had no walls on 2 sides, so any noise, cooking odors, etc. from below will travel unimpeded. The lower bedroom was under the stairs. The slanted ceiling (from the stairs) was above the bed and it was covered in a glass mirror. I don’t think either of these rooms would suitable for young children.

We exchanged timeshare points that added up to over $1000 to stay here, and we have to say that this was the worse value for the money of all the timeshare places we stayed at.

Room Tip: If you want to stay in a standalone unit, try to get a map of the village to choose. There appears...

“very spacious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

We exchanged into this resort through II stayed in unit 132 very large, except for the bathrooms, they are very very small. The location is great close to everything. We did have internet in the room but not wireless. While we were here they burned the leaves on the grass, was very smoky for a day. The outdoor pools are beautiful. I would stay here again.

“Super, Relaxed, and Unique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

8 of us and we all loved this place. We had 4 kids in the group ranging from 1-10 and we had no problems with the hills or the stairs. Be sure to let them know ahead of time that you are coming with a toddler, so that they can baby proof the unit. They do the best they can, but you still have to be careful with babies who love stairs; mine, 2, did well. For people who love nature, this is a wonderful place to stay, sorrounded by trees, and water, you are pretty much left alone to enjoy it. No worries about next door noise or neighbors, at that. I love the fact that the house was all windows, everywhere you went you could enjoy a nice view. The house was clean, newer carpet, and newer stove, no granite countertops, but for the setting, I was not expecting luxury. Everything worked well, with a few minor housekeeping issues, which were resolved promptly and courteously. The staff was friendly, and ready to answer any questions you have. On Mondays they have a doughnut and coffee, come and meet your neighbor kind of come and go get together, which we enjoyed and had our questions answered by Judy. Thank you Judy and Carol for all your help.

The pools are great. The outdoor pool is great to enjoy the view, cook out and talk. The indoor pool was great for the little ones. It is heated and not so deep.

I loved this place. WE WILL BE BACK!

Room Tip: The 3 bdrm houses are roomier than the 2 bdroom. All houses are different in decor.
