I was on business south of Kansas City, so I thought I'd stay in a motel close to my customers. This was a poor choice! It might be that this motel has had some problems in the recent past and that they're trying to correct them now. But until they do pass it by and stay elsewhere! Even if they offer you a $30 rate!
The staff is mostly family and more concerned about filling empty rooms than telling you the truth. Like for starters that there's no juice at the breakfast bar (and sometimes no milk). Like the pool is closed and the motel common areas are under repair. Like there's a phone access add on fee regardless of whether or not you use the phone. Like there's only one ice machine for the whole complex (behind the reception).
About the only plus thing I can say is that the location was agreeable, right at exit 69 off of I-435. And they cleaned the room everyday. However, for a good cluster of restaurants and shopping you're better off driving east about 7 miles to the community of Lee's Summit. In fact, if you're going to stay in this area, I'd look for lodging there, instead. Oh well, if it's August, late night, and all the motels are full, take a chance - but not for more than $50.
