“Favorite hotel in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW via mobile

This is the hotel that I suggest to anyone coming to town. It's a beautiful, boutique hotel with tons of character. Within walking distance from a grocery store, tons of coffee shops and Power & Light District and the Sprint Center. Short cab / drive to Crown Centee, The Plaza and Westport.

The hotel is in a great location. Close to Lifeblock which makes it convenient if you are a party goer.

The hotel looks great for outside, the lobby is beautiful and the rooms are good and include all essentials. However, we had a bad experience with the management. Three days prior to the trip we requested for a two twin bed room which they said they can arrange. Then we requested for a roll away bed as well. However, on the day we checked in we got a room with a single twin bed and no roll away. We unfortunately had to make do with sharing a small bed and sleeping on the couch. However, they did provide us with loads of blankets, pillow, etc to make our stay comfortable.

I would recommend this hotel if u do not have complicated room option. Somehow I felt management was concerned getting the room rent than keeping the guest comfortable.

My husband and I stayed for one night while passing through on the way home after visiting family up north. After researching all the motel options, we noticed this place was only slightly more for what looked like a much nicer experience. We were not disappointed!

The service was lovely, the room well stocked, and the room service breakfast was very tasty. We watched a lot of TV, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. I loved the shower. I could go on, but basically stay here!

Especially as one who usually sticks to cheap motels and was sick of being uncomfortable, this hotel was a god send.

We stayed at the Hotel Phillips for just one night and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, it has an old Hollywood kind of feel, and complimentary wine and cheese is offered at happy hour in the lobby. The rooms are rather spartan, in an elegant sort of way, the beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet (a must for this light sleeper). Great location to explore downtown Kansas City and the Power and Light District.

Everything went smoothly, the staff was friendly, the historic lobby was totally charming, bed was comfortable and a good-size room. We parked in the KC library parking lot 3 blocks away for cheaper parking.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. We reserved a room through Priceline at a good rate and ended up being on the top floor. We had a few drinks at the hotel bar in the evenings and it was nice. The valet was pretty slow, we had to wait almost 20 minutes after we checked out.

From the moment we pulled up to this beautiful hotel, we felt taken care of. Our valet, Scott, was very kind and happy to answer our questions. Check in was a breeze!! Our room was on the 15th floor near the elevators. I have read in other reviews there is no hot water on this floor...WRONG! Just let the water run for 4 or 5 minutes. It was very hot! The shower head was amazing too. Yes, the bathroom was a little small but it's not a deal breaker. I have also read that the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything, everywhere.... we didn't hear a thing.

Our room was very spacious with a sitting area seperate from the sleeping area. The bed was extremely comfy and the linens were crisp and clean.

We went to the restaurant for a glass of wine and a snack. The bar area was beautiful, the service was ok and the reuben sandwich wasn't the best. The breakfast buffet was amazing!

Overall, our stay was outstanding!!! Hotel Phillips is where we will stay every single time we are in Kansas City, without a doubt!!
