Stayed for 3 nights for a business trip and hotel was located 5 min walk from where I needed to be.
The famous Power and Light District is only a couple of blocks away. Just for orientation, the Marriott and Crowne Plaza are steps away. The Crowne Plaza seems to be still undergoing renovations as evidenced by the big disposal bin outside their parking garage.
Checked in late and the clerk was very friendly and gave me a room on the 14th floor.
Nice older art-deco style hotel and nicely renovated. Ceilings in hallway seemed a little low but the room ceiling height was normal.
The room with a queen bed was a little smaller than I expected but I guess that this being an older building that some of the rooms are small. Other than that, the furnishings and bed were fine; nice ergonomic desk chair at the desk and there is Internet Wifi and ethernet that is sometimes faster than the Wifi connection. Room was quiet and could not hear my neighbours.
The hotel restaurant seems okay with the usual overpriced egg omelets but service was quick and friendly. I only had breakfast there. There is a small bar/lounge on the second floor overlooking the lobby.
My only gripes for the stay were:
1. No stationary in the room (not a big deal) but I needed to post a letter. I went down to the front and asked a young lady if she had a letter envelope. They were not busy, but she took her time finishing her conversation with her colleague and she was dismissive when she said she didn't have any envelopes. She didn't even bother checking the back office. You will always run into indifferent staff and she was definitely one of them!
2. I needed a wake-up call for 6 am to catch my flight home. I called the front desk to set this up, but someone programmed a 3 am wake-up! Grrr!
Just a couple of minor annoyances but otherwise a comfortable stay.
I didn't have a car but the Aladdin has valet parking that is extra above your room rate.
I booked my mid-week stay on the ichotels website and got the same rate that the other travel websites were requiring full advanced payment for.
All in all I would stay there again and recommend it to others.
