Situated in a very eclectic and high end neighborhood, this home has been pain-stakenly restored to its original grandeur but with a much cooler vibe than most B & B's. Original artwork, serviceware made by the owner (Theresa is an awesome potter and cook). Overlooking the Kauffman Center and the KC skyline, this home is within walking distance of some of the cities hottest restaurants. Close drive to the Plaza or Power & Light District. What a relaxing time! Thanks Peter and Theresa! We will be back!

Room Tip: All the rooms are awesome! We checked in first so we toured all of them. Our room had a walk in cl...

We had a wonderful stay a few weeks ago. We stayed in the Mulkey Room and it was very nice. Peter and Theresa were exceptional hosts - we very much enjoyed our brief stay. The were open but also we had our space - the best of both worlds. The room was very nice - Comfortable and well decorated. A great bed and a very nice bathroom. The breakfast was fabulous. The presentation of the food was wonderful - and it tastes that good too!. We got some great pointers on the local and downtown area and very much enjoyed the visit and have a list of places to visit upon our return. The neighborhood also had many walking distance options - We stopped at The Westside Local and it was very good. We really liked this place and felt as though we were treated just as we would like and we look forward to coming back - soon.

Room Tip: Ask for anything - Peter and Theresa were wonderful and thoughtful in their help and advice.

this place was very good. the last time I was there, they did take solo visitors, and, still very good service, and very hospitable. I love the decor. an easy drive from here to most areas of Kansas City. very close to good eateries. they also served up a good breakfast. I would highly recommend this place for the need of intimacy. one of my best sleep nights. they did nothave a swimming pool or spa. they are a bed and breakfast place.

Jefferson House is absolutely beautiful. Peter and Theresa have obviously spent time thinking about what would make their guests most comfortable, and then including it all in their B&B. From the gorgeous décor to the comfortable beds to the amazing breakfast, everything was perfection.

Thanks for a great experience!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautiful.

Remembering our stay at the Jefferson House a couple weekends ago as a quiet respite in the city. We loved the pre-breakfast neighborhood walks, french fries from The Local, and evening coffee and crepes from Chez Elle, all within 2 blocks of the house. Our stay was lovely. Peter and Teresa are enjoyable and truly love what they do which gave a heightened sense of hospitality to their care and attentiveness to the details of our stay. The breakfasts are from an artist's palette, beautiful presentation and wonderful mix of seasonal flavors, which we especially appreciated. We were looking for a home away from home from which we could enjoy the offerings of the city and we found it. Also, remember to stop by Fervere's for some Old World style breads to take with you on your journey home.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Murdock suite with the living room where we enjoyed local take out and some reading.

This inn has to be the best place to stay in KC. Peter and Theresa are warm, accommodating hosts of this lovingly renovated house, filled with excellent art. The rooms are comfortable and spotless. The delicious breakfast is worth the stay alone. The location on the west side is great, within a short walk of a variety of good restaurants, as well as the Kauffman Center.

We recently celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary by a short escape to Jefferson House Bed & Breakfast. The house is incredible - every surface has been restored with immaculate taste, and it's filled with antiques and art from the owners' former home in England. We almost felt like we had been transported to another age. All of the food is top quality and super-yummy, from the chocolate shortbread in the room to the inventive fruit dishes at breakfast and the caramel sauced banana bread. Not to mention their signature savory cornbread muffins with a hard cooked egg inside! Peter and Theresa rank among the best hosts we've ever had, very warm and great conversationalists. Since Jefferson House is in our hometown, I believe the next time we are there, it will be as friends. Very lovely time!

Room Tip: If you like skylines or sunrises, get a room on the east side of the house. Great view of downtown.

Jefferson House is situated in the vibrant Westside neighborhood of downtown Kansas City. A thirteen room Neo-classic brick house designed for Charles A. Murdock, a dealer in spices and seeds, in the late 1890's. We have lovingly restored the house, which boasts stunning views of downtown, in a European style having moved to Kansas City from the British Channel Island of Jersey, situated nine miles from the northern coast of France. Our look is a mix of old and new, furniture and art; combining colors and beautiful fabrics. We hope that you will like our art collection, which has been gathered over many years, primarily from Europe and the Island of Jersey.
