After parking beside the Reiger Hotel, we made our way to the back via the alley. We were met with a shady looking individual who seemed a little edgy. When we asked about the entrance to Manifesto’s, he looked around suspiciously, punched a code into the door lock and let us in the back entrance, telling us to enjoy ourselves. Within the entry way, we were greeted by a receptionist who checked our reservation and ID’s to ensure that we were okay. She then led us into the basement, down a long, dark stairway and through an unfinished corridor lined with bare walls and utility boxes. This gave way to a back room that was lit only with tea candles. Within the room was a bar, booths and tables. After being seated, we were greeted by an attendant who reviewed the unique drink menu. While making our drink choices, we were entertained by the bartenders as they performed their magic, complete with flames and aerobic shaking. Our first choices are the “Winter in Buenos Aires” and the “Atlas Cocktail.” Absolutely amazing. Never would have imagined that the shown ingredients would have gone so well together. Our second round was “Cortez the Killer” and “Zombie Apocalypse.” In addition to the drinks being amazing, each glass is accompanied with a decanter that contains about ½ as much as that contained in the original glass. What’s nice is that this decanter is perfect for sharing drinks among the group. What a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for romantic couples and close friends.
