Perfect for these long hot dog days of summer when it's literally too hot to be outside, Science City offers kids the chance to run around and participate in exercises that work their brains also. My oldest in not so interested anymore (he's 12) but it is still a hit with my youngest and her friends. The Optical Illusion house and weighted Rop Ride on the Bike are the favorites, still. Plan on about a solid hour to hour and a half for kids to exhaust all they have to offer. A tip: we became Members of Union Station and it has paid for itself at least two times over as Science City and a couple other things are free with our membership (we can bring up to 8 in at a time, that is a great deal) and we get drastically discounted tickets for special exhibits like last summer's Princess Diana exhibit and the current Titanic exhibit. The decorations they have at Christmas and for the holidays are more than worth the cost of membership alone. Parking is easy, literally right next door, and the logistics on-and-off of I35 are a breeze as the signs are more than clearly marked. The Kiosk inside Union Station is a treasure trove of information on our fair city, last time the Gentleman working sparked our interest in the gangland "Massacre" that took place at Union Station and now that is our current "project", learning all we can about the where and when of that. Science City is a really nice relaxing, laid-back way to spend an afternoon.
