“Family Reunion at the Hyatt”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2009

Had a family reunion gathering of 30 people at the Hyatt Memorial Day weekend. Hotel packed with pre teen kids for a baseball tournament and a softball tournament also going on. Very quiet rooms. Heard no noise from other rooms.
Complimentary breakfast was good. Too bad you have to pay more just to get some eggs and/or bacon. Drury across the road does serve a great hot breakfast complimentary. Fruit was fresh. Cereal choices good. Milk, juice, tea and coffee available. Wish complimentary drinks would be available in the afternoon also. No pop machines as they sell pop in the lobby. No microwaves in the rooms as they have food service available for purchase 24 hours a day. A microwave would be a great addition to the room.
The rooms were very spacious for a family with 3 kids. Beds comfy. Rooms always clean. Beds not queen size so a little small. Bathroom was small but vanity area was quite large. Lots of space to store belongings. No phone books in rooms either. They want to you ask up front for everything.
Pool was clean and nice. Our meeting room for the reunion was a perfect size and doors to outside opened to pool access which was great for kids.
Staff always friendly but not always available immediately as it was very busy with a full hotel.
Would stay here again for the updated, clean and friendly nature of this hotel.

This hotel was amazing and we will definitely stay there again! The staff was super friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and completely modern and the beds were comfortable. The rooms look exactly like the pictures, which surprised me. Usually the pictures on the website look somewhat like the room but these are exact. The breakfast is pretty good, and free!
The location is about 15 minutes from downtown/crown center/etc., but you just jump right on the highway and it's super simple.

We stayed one night, 2 rooms. Got it on Priceline $44.00 bid. Lets just say March Madness and huge TV's. A very nice room. Front desk was friendly and helpful.

Check in was fast and friendly. The room's decor was....yuppyish. It had a nice roomy wraparound couch with a huge ottoman, a computer workstation, a wetbar area, a huge (42"+) flatpanel tv. The bed area is separated from the couch area by quarter wall giving it a more intimate feeling. The tv is set up so that you can see it from both areas. The bathroom area is tiny.....you need to walk in, turn around and then shut the door in order to use the toilet and the towel rack is actually in the shower. The sink area is open to the rest of the room which is always annoying if somebody gets up in the middle of the night to use the facilities and needs to turn on the lights to see the sink to wash up.

The free breakfast consisted of frseh fruit, bagels, english muffins, toast, yogurt and cold cereal. You can also purchase a made to order breakfast.

They do have park and fly rates for the airport guests but make sure you book your room using that rate instead of getting to the hotel and then requesting to park there during your vacation, they'll want $12 a day.

I stayed overnight prior to an early flight the next day and found this to be an excellent hotel. The room was quite clean and the bed/furniture was comfortable. The HDTV is as large as I expected and glorious! One somewhat disappointing point was the bathroom, which is a bit small (just enough room between the toilet and the shower to open the door). Staff was friendly and helpful.

There is a new outdoor mall nearby (free hotel shuttle service here and to airport) with several high-end shops and a surprisingly broad range of (excellent) dining choices and bars. It works to pass a few hours, but I wouldn't be enough to keep you entertained for more than a day.

This would be an GREAT choice for business travelers (only with business in North KC) or people like me who live far from the Airport and want some place to crash before an early flight. You'll be happy you did!

  • Liked — Proximity to airport, Free Wi-Fi, free shuttle service
  • Disliked — smallish bathroom

This hotel is located convenient to MCI, a little further than some, but well worth the extra mile or so. When you first come through the doors you will find staff there waiting to greet you and to explain how the food ordering, work out center, etc operates. The check-in is fast and painless and you are then left to go to your room. Wow, you will get knocked out. The room is huge with a large modular couch, table, kitchen sink, HUGE LCD tv (wow, I loved watching the baseball), big bed, separate vanity, bathroom, etc. Breakfast is complimentary and extensive. I just cannot say enough nice things about Hyatt Place at Kansas City Airport. I stayed in 3 Hyatts on this 5 day trip and this was the best (and I might add the cheapest). It is clean, clean, clean and just the friendliest people. This is the place to stay!!!

  • Liked — The staff, you will not find any friendlier!
  • Disliked — Nothing, it was awesome.

Stayed at Hyatt Place Airport Kansas City on 9/28/08. Traveled with elderly parents and adult sisters / brother.

Location / Hotel: Beautiful, dressed up Amerisuites. Rooms were double queens with queen sofa bed. All very nice and comfortable. Only about 10 minutes from MCI.

Food: Had great continental breakfast with cereals, fresh fruit, waffles, etc.. Served Starbucks coffee. Have a small restaurant / Starbucks on-site. Very handy. Can also walk to Waffle House or Ruby Tuesday.

Park & Fly. No charge. Leave you car there and they shuttle you right to terminal. Call when you get back and they pick you up. Such a money and time saver.

I won't stay anywhere else when I'm flying out of MCI!!!
