“A good place to see history on a rainy day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2012

The money museum is very interesting if you are interested in how money is made and circulated throughout the U.S. Of course, there is a brief security process you have to go through first to get in, but it is really not bad at all. Once inside, there are many little exhibits which explain how money evolved within the U.S. along with a short film. Kids can create their own money and then move on to see real money being bundled as they peek through the glass window. The museum provides plenty of information packets to give each individual an idea of what to expect at the exhibit and how to gain more information after and each individual also receives a bag of shredded money at the end of the tour for fun. Good fun for a rainy day.

“Money.Money.Money. Money. Money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

Fun and informative Museum with lots of hands on displays and a history of money in our country. Take pictures and create your own money. Also lift a gold bar and watch employees as they work and sort the money. A fun and free exhibit to see if in the Kansas City area.

“informative insight into KC history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

Neat to lift a gold bar.
Videos well worth watching.
Displays that will add to your awareness of money and how KC got one of the nation's Fed banks.

“Great place to spend an hour with kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

The Money Museum, part of the Federal Reserve in Kansas City, is a great place to spend an hour with your kids (aged 7 and above, I recommend). There are great interactive exhibits about the Federal Reserve in KC, how money is made (and destroyed) and you can even design your own bills. Then you can watch as the money is moved and counted (more money than I will ever see again) to be sent all around the country. A great, small museum will make a great afternoon excursion.

“Nice free museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2012

Excellent history of u.s. money. Cool stuff for kids too. You can design your own imitation cash bill with your kids picture on it instead of a president and have it sent to your emal address for you to print out. The museum is on the smaller side and will probably only take a maximum of 1 hour to get through. The security is somewhat intense going in (not as bad as an airport), but since it is a federal building expect a 5 minute adventure there. They held my driver's license for about 2-3 minutes scanning it through computers. So make sure you don't have any skelton's in your closet prior to visiting. Well worth your time (Free parking too).
