My wife and I stayed here for a night last weekend. I had always heard what a great hotel the Raphael was. What a disappointment!. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The carpet was worn and dirty. The bed was adequate at best.
The worst part was when we came back from dinner the temperature in the room was about 90 deg. Since the thermostat had a sign on it to call an extension for assistance I did. They told me to make sure that the fan was off, the heat was off and the temp set down but there was nothign they could do about it since they were on a boiler system. They told me the windows did open. So we slept the night with 3 of the 4 windows open and were still warm in the morning. I would highly recommend skipping this old hotel. Not worth it at all.
