We checked in, dead tired, after spending nine hours in the car... What a pleasant surprise. Nice rooms, pleasant professional front desk staff, and a great restaurant. KC has come a long way, and the "Raph" is a good example. It didn't hurt that we were upgraded, and the room really was a "cut above." Four Seasons quality. We look forward to returning.
Oh, note to Marriott. The answering service for a Marriott "autograph" property features a woman with a posh, west-end London accent, welcoming callers to "indulge themselves in the property's unparalleled luxury..." Then the caller is switched to a local reservation clerk, in most cases someone who hasn't attended St. Alexia in Mayfair, and is abruptly confronted with that individual's accent... I think you get my drift.
