I've stayed at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown over 50 nights in the past 4 years for business. It's a pretty good business hotel. It's getting a little old, so they are busy renovating parts of the hotel. Right now, the entire lobby is covered with a white drape and blocked off.
The rooms are okay for business. The service is just okay; nothing special, and I have Platinum Marriott status. There is a small Executive Lounge on the 20th floor with free water, soft drinks, and a simple breakfast in the morning and Happy Hour like snacks in the evening.
The hotel is located adjacent to the KC Convention Center. So, if you have an event there, you could walk there with your eyes shut. It's not too far from the new Opera House. It's several blocks away from the Power & Light District which is a small concentration of nice restraurants, bars, and clubs.
