“Average food at above average prices - 3 1/2 stars”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Visited Maker's Mark for dinner on a Thursday evening after a conference. We were seated immediately and there were maybe two other tables with customers. We waited probably five minutes before or server came with water and asked for drinks. Neither of us had an alcoholic beverage so we can't speak for their bourbon menu, although it appeared extensive. On Thursday night's they have $1 lobster tail that you can add to any of the steaks. Steaks range in price from approximately $24 - $35 each. I ordered the 10 ounce prime rib with the $1 lobster tail. The meal came with the chef's potatoes which were a mustard mashed potato (they were pretty good) and the vegetable of the day which were green beans in garlic (frozen and flavorless...not to mention still cold. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came medium well - very disappointing! The lobster must've been bought in the dollar aisle as it was very dry and flavorless. My husband ordered the steak soup for an appetizer - it was ok...a stew essentially. He ordered the braised short ribs. He's a big boy and let's just say the portion was tiny! Maybe 4 ounces of meat with potatoes and a few slivers of carrots. Needless to say he ate most of mine. Overall a disappointing experience as the bill was $75.

“1/2 price steak night on Tuesday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

The special gets it down to reasonably priced. The place is empty during the week, so there shouldn't be a problem getting a table. Great staff, too. They have a decent cigar selection and smokers are welcome outside.

Great bone in ribeye. Wife had a filet and she loved it also. Value was great because it was on a Tuesday which Is half-price steak night.

“Can't Say Enough!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

This place was absolutely fantastic. The employees were so warm and friendly. Excellent staff providing excellent service! The food was the best I've eaten in a long time, especially the steak-- melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Can't say enough about the experience we had there.

“"Sad place"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014

We decided to eat at this restaurant based on reviews. what a mistake. ordered prime rib and it was like a chuck steak. fat and chewy. they did not have the ingredients to make a mojita -did not have a certain kind of common vodka and did not have beer on tap. The waitress was very condescending and basically acted like we were not good enough. The manager came over to ask us how we were doing and when we told him the problem, he went away and never came back. in other words, it was an awful experience!! we were so sorry we chose that restaurant to enjoy a renowned "Kansas city steak".
